I still have the pdf 80-page Spartan manual for the Mac version (the game is pretty much the same as Legion), and it is available for free on the web (I think it was at Filefront, but my memory is not so good). I don't have the Ipad game yet, so I don't know how complete is the help file.

Re: Used to have Spartan and GoT on Mac... now I have a PC
I still have Spartan on my Mac, and the game was marketed by Virtual Programming Ltd. I forgot where I bought it online from, but I probably could fine the old emails if I looked hard enough. It had a protection system that only allowed a small number of installations (hmmm, maybe I still have the M...

I had not played Spartan for a long time and I just got Troy, so this may have been covered in early posts when the game came out. I am unable to find any guides to the game, which is more subtle than it appears at first sight. So anyway here are a few hints for newbies or those like me who have for...

saved games names
Bad idea: instead of saving the games under the name that the user gives them, Spartan/GoT saves them under its own numbered system. Normally this does not pose much of a problem because from inside the game, you see the name that you gave it. But when you move a saved game between computers, you ca...

Svaved games compatible with Gates of Troy?
I just bought GoT online at Matrixgames. I hae a spartan game as Macedon fairly well advanced. Are Spartan saved games compatible with Gates of Troy, or should I expect problems?

Henri you should be able to look up the order at www.findmyorder.com with an e-mail address? Let me know how you get on. I can't let you play until we find your orer in the system as this is how it unlocks it. FYI we no longer use this copy protection system for this very reason - we re new to digi...

I feel so stupid... I can find neither hide nor hair of the disk nor the box, which means that either I lost it ( I moved last year) or most probably ordered it online from Matrixgames. All I can find is a backup CD of the Mac version with the serial number on it. I don't remember if I got bo...

too many ccopies
I haven't played Spartan for a long while and last year I changed my computer and forgot that I had a copy of Spartan on it. Now my copy at work functions, but here at home it says I have already too many copies. Can you reset my game so I can run 2 copies? I have the boxed copy, and am a regular cu...

If you look at the victory conditions, you will see that the Germans win even if they barely hold on to Berlin at the end. Therefore the game is strongly biased in favor of the Soviet player. Against a human player, there is little chance for the Germans to reach the historical conditions in 41 or 4...

OK, after I reloaded a saved game from a few moves before, the game did not freeze any more. I played until a few months after the date of the crash without problems, so I guess it was just a glitch. Henri oops- the same thing happened just now on the Sep 20 43 move (the previous issue was on the Ju...

I am playing the Germans in the GS expansion under 1.12 and I captured Moscow in July 43. But when the computer did its move, after some sea moves then land moves, when it came back to the sea moves the game froze when one of my subs was attacked (probably by a carrier, because there are no nearby s...

Re: Help starting up again - playing GS
Hi - I have tried several times to download the GS pack and get it working with v1.12 CEAW and just cant seem to get it to run. In a fit of annoyance I have now unistalled CeaW and want to start from scratch. The only issue is that I dont know how to redownload CeaW without buying it again - any he...
