Svaved games compatible with Gates of Troy?

I just bought GoT online at Matrixgames. I hae a spartan game as Macedon fairly well advanced. Are Spartan saved games compatible with Gates of Troy, or should I expect problems?

To be honest i dont remember. Give it a try it will either work fine or not!
