I feel so stupid...
I can find neither hide nor hair of the disk nor the box, which means that either I lost it ( I moved last year) or most probably ordered it online from Matrixgames. All I can find is a backup CD of the Mac version with the serial number on it. I don't remember if I got both versions at the same time or if I bought the Mac version separately. (Since Intel Macs came out I now play PC games on a Mac using Bootcamp). I can't even go check my purchase history because I changed my credit card number last year because of fraud and I don't remember the old number.
The reason that the version at work functions and the one at home doesn't is because at home the game is on an external drive and the computer that installed it is long gone, so I presume that the game does not recognize the computer as the correct one - when I start it says game expired. The exe file says it was created on Aug 3 2007, which is apparently when I bought it. The emails and purchase order for the game were probably on my old computer at home, since I can find no trace of it here in my mail at the office (I am retired so I can play whenever I feel like it).
I just found that the Mac version here at the office works, but only if I reduce the resolution to 1028 before I start the gamne - otherwise only half the screen is displayed. I haven't tried it at home, but I suspect I will have the same problem as with the PC version. In the PC version, the resolution adjusts automatically. So I probably have 2 versions that work at the office and two that don't work at home...
I have about a dozen matrix games, but I wouldn't blame you

if you don't believe me, since I have no proof that I bought the game (unless there is some way of checking the game that I don't know about).
This is the reason that I don't like this copy protection scheme and why I usually buy both the download and the box version (as I did with CEAW and some other games that I also bought from Matrix).
