Hi
Played a game on Tuesday when lh had to evad through cavalry
ll
ccc
l = light horse
c =cav
Even thought they moved 1 base to the right they couldn't avoid the cav
Now this means they burst through and disorder the cav
Is this correct and if so if make it difficult to deploy the horse as ...

Re: Joining an existing combat
Hi
Think I got my ideas confused reference this.
I got the idea that you couldn't charge into a unit already in melee DOH
So in fact you can or you can move into an overlap
during manoeuvre
Thx
Steve

Re: Joining an existing combat
Right so we did it correctly ...but in the combat I had 1 elephant and 1 aux facing each other initially while the other auxilia was back a bit
and facing the other auxilia stand (auxila was one stand behind the other ) .
Now will the other auxilia just join the melee during the manoeuvre phase or ...

Re: Joining an existing combat
Hi
Just to clarify the editor of this has moved the rear auxilia
it should be behind and to the right of the front auxilia with
one of the elephant stands in front of it
The cav original position was to the rear and the right as
it couldn't reach to charge into the rear until a turn after
the ...

Killiecrankie bayonets
Hi
The bayonet issue at killiecrankie needs a special rule to simulate the wiiliamite armies
failure to get them fixed in time for the highland charge.
My idea is -
one fire phase to fix bayonets during which you cannot fire and after which you cannot fire.
Once fixed you get the bayonet bonus ...

Impact base alignment
Hi All
Last night in a game we had a 2 file wide 2 ranks deep rajtar cavalry unit.
It was charged by a 3 file wide 2 ranks deep russian boyar cavalry unit.
Because the boyars hit it at an angle during the impact phase the bases
slid forward so that all 3 could hit one of the rajtar bases.

Re: Conforming during manoevre for melee
Hi
So does that mean that if in impact only one base has the move to contact
then i can still slide the others forward 2 mu even if they will exceed their move ?
Also - i am sure it says you must adopt a legal formation for the melee -
that is in this case a straight line or a rectangle.
So since ...

Conforming during manoevre for melee
Hi All
Played OG AM last night for the first time in about 18 months.
Realized i seem to have forgotten some basic stuff so what happened was -
Norman kn charged Byzant Cv but only one base had the range to hit on the
charge - fought the impact with one base vs one base - 2 dice each.
Now during ...

Swedish brigade - 3 ranks for arty
Hi All
One of my club is building one of your 'wonder troops '
ie - so brilliant you just head them for the enemy ie the swedes of gustavus adolphus
Looks like with the additional pike to stop them breaking ever i can shoot
them as 3 deep with my arty on a 4,5,6
Or they invulnerable on that score ...

Hi
Bit of an odd question but say if have light arty in the front of a pike/shot unit
Just in front of the pike say
Now if the arty is attacked effectively you are in melee with the unit behind
since they are effecively in the same place - can the shot fire at the same place
as the arty who are in ...

I think in the sublist for 1645 -
it says a minimum of ordinary pike/shot of 12

and a minimum of 6 poor pike/shot
i am not in front of the army lists but from memory its confusing
Can anyone explain what the minimums for ordinary pike/shot
