New to this game and can’t figure out how to restore battered units
In ROP you have depot units and if u leave units in a quiet town
They ‘get better’ but there are no depots in this ,do you just leave
Them somewhere eith good supply ?
All hints gratefully accepted

On about turn 11 landed caesar and some legions at lissus had a battle which i won against pompey s forces now i cannot find caesar
He has vanished from the right hand side of the map as well ... would i be told it he was killed/drowned and is there a way
to find out what happoened to him ?

My only issue with UOC is that all the divisions even infantry constantly try to cut the supply lines
Its simply a bit too easy to launch attacks
I beat a guy at Kursk by just using my Russian infantry to go round his flanks
That just isn't going to happen unless they have prepped an attack

On looking at the rulebook to work out whether my french later louis xiv
infantry are protected i think it said..
If the medium infantry in the front rank are adjacent to a heavy infantry
unit (pike i imagine) then they are protected.
In this instance they are not as the formation consists of 3 ...

Last night had a bank of 6 turkish guns chewing up an austrian pike block.
Backing up the guns in rear contact i had azabs and janissaries.

1. When shooting the guns at long range i can choose my targets -
therefore i ignored a line of skirmishers in front.
Chose to hit the 3 ranks deep bits ...

Until now i assumed all pike units had a base depth max of 4.
So can u have 5 or more to allow for casualties ?

I have valois french with shot armed skirmishers so 1525 onwards
As far as i can see swiss and lansnecht wore pretty identical clothing
at this period so my lansnecht will morph into swiss .
Might do a few stands with swiss flags.

Reading the dice for shooting - it looks to me like LH using pistols
get one dice per base instead of one per two bases.
Is that correct ?

You cant charge thru LF can you ?
Your turn they interpenetrate thru your keils
YOU GET shot up by the tercio
In their turn you get shot again
Then you charge in with not enough pike ranks and lose

Gotta work out how to fight tercios with valious french
