Re: Stockport Pick'n'Mix 2014 - December 13th/14th

Thanks Hammy, I found it a small, but perfectly-formed tournament. And no danger of becoming over-weight due to the edible prizes. Apologies to my opponents, and thanks for their forbearance in over-looking the many deficiencies in my memory of the rules. I'd not played for far too long; this was a ...

And no, I posted that twice through incompetence, not in an effort to gain promotion.

Will you be posting the results, Hammy?

Re: Stockport Pick'n'Mix 2012 December 8th&9th

It was, as previously, tiring but fun. I've not been to another contest where I've played 6 games against people there to try to win a fair contest played in good spirit. It's a great antidote to the nightmare of some of the 6th edition games that I'm ashamed (now) to have taken part in. Of course, ...

Help with 25 mm Figures, Please

Is there anybody out there who can help with some problems in trying to play FOG AM with 25mm figures? I tried playing 25 mm FoG AM against the redoubtable Philip Ashworth (nice bloke, but I'm jealous of his multiple and beautifully painted armies). It threw up a few problems that I thought I ought ...

Re: Stockport Pick'n'Mix 2012 December 8th&9th

Hello, I'd like to enter, please. I'd like to enter 25 mm FoG AM if there are at least 3 other people out there with old 25 mm armies gathering dust in their loft / shed / basement, otherwise I shall enter the 15 mm FoG AM. I'd like at this point to put in a plea for the use, for the time being, of ...

Thanks are indeed due. Of course, mostly to Hammy, but by extension to all the others there. It seems such a friendly competition; I don't think I heard a voice raised in anger the entire weekend (possibly my own, but I was talking to my dice at the time). As I had one of my better tournaments (ther...

I'd like to suggest another alternative, unfortunately borrowed somewhat from the 'other' ruleset (TM) and needing a modicum of work from 'someone'. It feels like it ought to be possible to assign an "aggression" rating to each army (indeed, this has been done for the 'dark side' set). A d...

I'd like to add my own thanks to Hammy and any other organisers, as well as to the other competitors. I also want to ask a general question; was this event typical of FoG competitions? You see, there was something missing. The sound of contention. For one used to 6th edition and a little DBM (i.e. n...

Don't mention if Dave is right. I did once, but I think I got away with it.

I've a suggestion. Not that it is necessarily a good one. Why not go use the old 6th edition-type scoring system? This works as: Score = Points value of army + Opponents losses - Own losses Count a broken army (broken as per the rules) as full points value (e.g. 650 in the forthcoming Stockport Pic...
