OK, from the lists I have so far which do at least tie in with who I think is coming we have the following:

Saturday:
FoG:AM
Robert Taylor Dailami Dynasties
Steve Clarke Bosphoran
Gordon Jamieson Jewish Revolt
Paul Longmore Dominate Roman
Peter Reilly Palmyran
Phil Ashworth Neo-Assyrian Empire
Lynda Fairhurst Warring States (Yan)
Steve Cook Khurasanian Dynasties
Pete Card Western Han Chinese
David Fairhurst Early Achaemenid Persian
John McIntosh Axumite

FoG:R
Matt Poole Thirty Years War French
Kevin Johnson Indonesian (Johor Sultanate)
Dave Redhead Maximilian Imperial in Italy
Graham Hutchison French Thirty years war
Adrian Steer Early Thirty Years War German Protestant
Kurt Jewkes ECW Early Royalist

and Sunday:
FoG:AM
Robert Taylor Dailami Dynasties
Steve Clarke Swiss
Gordon Jamieson Post Latin Conquest Byzantines
Paul Longmore Swiss
Peter Reilly Later Medieval Swedish
Phil Ashworth Catalan Company
Lynda Fairhurst Later Anglo-Irish
Steve Cook Khurasanian Dynasties
Phil Powell Hepthalite Hunnic
Peter Butler WOTR _ Yorkist Pretender
Matt Poole Malay
Pete Card Early Teutonic Knights
David Fairhurst Inca

FoG:R
John McIntosh Ethiopian
Kevin Johnson Indonesian (Johor Sultanate)
Dave Redhead Maximilian Imperial in Italy
Graham Hutchison French Thirty years war

The more observant among you may have noticed that there are odd numbers of players in FoG:AM both days. This may mean that I end up playing FoG:AM to even numbers or it may mean that David Fairhurst who has offered to even numbers in FoW may end up pushing tanks about for a day.

There is a possible additional player in FoG:R on Sunday so if any FoG:AM players want to consider bringing a FoG:R army that would be handy.

P.S. the last list hit my inbox at 2 minutes past 9 tonight ;)

Just want to say thank you to Hammy for another smoothly run tournament.
And thanks to all my ever gracious opponents. I hope we can do it all again next year.

Cheers

Same from Lynda and I,hope I didn't infect to many people with my cold, the way I felt Friday and Saturday I'm surprised I got there and played, but you can't miss this one can you.
Some are starting to catch with the more unusual armies but come on you Swiss and Romans try something else,we could lend something if you wanted

It was, as previously, tiring but fun. I've not been to another contest where I've played 6 games against people there to try to win a fair contest played in good spirit. It's a great antidote to the nightmare of some of the 6th edition games that I'm ashamed (now) to have taken part in. Of course, it has proven rather expensive as I felt obliged to buy FoG AM 2.0 at full price on returning home and I will doubtless spend much time trying to work out how a 17 unit Swiss army can be beaten. That and forever looking over my shoulder to see if there's a handgunner sneaking round behind me.

Thanks Hammy, looking forward to next year. Can anyone recommend any other events in the NW, basically within 90 minutes of CHester?

And no, I posted that twice through incompetence, not in an effort to gain promotion.

Will you be posting the results, Hammy?

Well it will have a lot less attrition points in V2. It will also be less manoeuverable

A couple to consider:

Northern League - A series of 5 1 day events in t'North. The calendar for next year has not been finalised but 2 rounds are likely to be in Manchester. Fog AM Doubles (900pt) and Fog R Singles (800pt), 2 games in each round. Here's the website:
http://www.maws.org.uk/ndbml/index.htm

Stoke Challenge - A one day event, 14th July next year. Fog AM and Fog R, 3 650 point games, stealing the format from the Pick 'n' Mix. Website:
http://www.stoke-challenge.blogspot.co.uk/p/home.html

Britcon (August) has been held in Manchester but the date/venue have not been confirmed for next year. It's a more substantial event but still a lot of fun.

In addition to those above there is

UK Games Expo at Birmingham. This is another 650pt comp which Hammy runs (what would we do without him)

Phil, funny I've never found attrition relevant for my Swiss, manoeuver is more the issue I think will cause me problems

But lower attrition will combine with lack of manoeuver when you can't afford to take losses whilst the remainder of your army try to get to the place where they are now needed.

Phil,

I dont think have ever lost more than 5 BG's in competition with the current Swiss list, so attrition so far has not been a problem!

Try reading what I wrote Spike. You will not be able to move as quickly to get out of or in the way, at the same time you can afford less casualties.
5 is 10 of the 13 you will have at 650pts

Ok to make im clear, I don't have a problem with my Swiss. The breakpoint amendments in v2, im still happy to play with my 650 point list as it is. Any perception that you I seem to believe that I missed your point Phil, I haven't.
So as long as I'm happy with my list, its up to you to try to prove me wrong then
