Re: Runners and Riders FOG Roll Call 17
So this year I decided to commit a lot of time and thought to my army choice. I play tested a number of the possible armies, I tried them against different armies, I considered the right blend of troops to give as many options as possible, i devised tactics to fight all the other armies using my nar...

Re: Chris Proudfoot's Dancing Shoes
My dancing shoes are packed and ready to rumble. Unfortunately they will not be accompanied by last years dancing heels as she has to look after her son. I know this will reduce my popularity on Friday and Saturday night but I hope we might still enjoy an excursion into Manchester's wild side. Regar...

Re: Challenge runners and riders
Sorry to disappoint you gents who were looking for an easy 25 points but as I am a floater, or should that be a sinker, the Seljuk Turks are morphing to Patrician Romans and heading for the DBM competition to even up the numbers there.......unless things change again! However as I will not be playin...

Rob
Chris Proudfoot (that is meee) is a defo for Bayfog. Dave Finnigan needs another week to be sure. I will send you my cheque in the morning....an interesting variant of the cheque is in the post.
Cheers

Re: Bayfog V 26/27october - average joe competition again
OK...at the risk of appearing a complete thicky....how does the average joe thing work. I know all troops must be average or poor but say I wanted to take my Assyrians...do I downgrade the chariots to average (as they are compulsory) or can I not take chariots because they are superior only in the l...

Chris Proudfoot (that is me) will be attending and Dave Finnigan is likely to attend once he has negotiated with her who must be obeyed. I will confirm on Sunday/Monday once Dave has put my FoG derriere in my pocket as usual in Sunday's game.
Cheers

Re: BHGS Challenge Runners and Riders
I do take umbrage with Mr R insinuating that I will be painting my army on the morning of the comp. In fact I am well on top of the Principate Roman painting with only two units to complete by Friday. And I do know I won't make Durham to Brighton in 3 hours...think it will be nearer four!!!! Now sto...

Saunders.....How did you finish above me when I wupped you by a narrow margin in rnd 2. How much did you pay Finnigan to roll over and die in the last rnd. 30 pieces of silver and a blueberry muffin? Sheesh!! Think I'll find myself a new doubles partner!! (Actually, as threat's go, that's not one of...

So here was I thinking that tactical naivety, a lack of knowledge of the rules, an army that manoeuvred like a stranded whale on Roker beach, a propensity to throw dice like a drongo at the most crucial moments and my total ineptitude as a General contributed to my shambolic performance at Warfare. ...

Hi Pete Answering my own question now. Scanning through the army list books and some list notes say 'minimum if any non-allied foot used and some say minimum if any foot used. So, by default, unless it stipulates non allied foot then ally foot trigger the minimum. List I was looking at was Graeco-Ba...

Allied contingents effect on battlegroup selection
Can't find the answer to this question so thought I'd ask the experts! Appendix 1 - using the lists states that 'All special instructions applying to an army list must be adhered to. They also apply to allied contingents supplied BY the army.' So is the same true for allied contingents supplied TO t...

Years ago I played in a similar comp at Newbury. My suggestion, to make things interesting, is that each player submits a 700, 800 and 900 pt army list with the core 700 pts being the same in each list and then additional units added to make up the other two lists. The competitors are then drawn and...
