Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (v8.4.4)
Fury was pretty good movie. What I come to realize, is the courage the tank crews had, knowing that the Tiger can kill you easy from a greater distance.
Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (v8.4.4)
Is this mod still available somewhere? I am particularly interested in modifying the 20mm Flak 38, however, it does not appear in my purchase screen and I don't know why. Can anyone help with this? Thanks you.

Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (v8.4.4)
(I have very fond memories of "A Link to the Past" ...)
Believe it or not, but I'm almost done with the update. I know I took my time...
(To be honest, the now available (so-called "AI") LLM tools were VERY helpful.)
Not sure if there's still interest, but once I've done some more play-testing, I will update the link with the most recent version of my mod.

Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (v10.0.6)
The Japanese campaign works with all "Major Victories" on level V difficulty.
And if the "Guadalcanal" scen works with the Marines campaign, the remaining scens will work, too...

Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (v10.0.6)
After a long time playing the vanilla version, it's funny to see heavy infantry attacking my ships...
Also noticed an error in my mod. Gave the "DUKW" transport a "shallow_draft" chassis instead of "amphibious". Suddenly they couldn't disembark on beaches and forest hexes (?). Yeah, figuered it was the movement points (MP). Gave the "shallow_draft" three MP, but entering beaches, swamps, forest and such required more than 4 MP. Oh, well...

Still love this game. Haven't found anything else like it. It could use some "upgrade" and AI improvements, but yeah, the easy handling, in-depth mechanics and simple UI are incredible.

Everything seems to work well so far. The "Marines" DLC plays fine with "Major Victories" on level V.
The German "Blitzkrieg" is fun. They have the best toys. I've used a very diversified core force to test new units and such I would'n buy usually.

Still refining things in the mod. Balancing stats of both some vanilla and my own units.
Added the "Sisu" spec to the WinterWar campaign according to this thread: viewtopic.php?p=989026
Created new images for the "Gruppe Monsun" and "Rationing" specs.
And more playtests...

Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (v10.0.6)
Trying to use LLMs (openAI) to import new models. I'm in the process of "teaching" it, and so far - after 20 iterations or so - it still looks like this....

All the trouble to generate and add a new commander for just one scen:
But it was worth it!

Changing a model’s texture to create a new model for another country is possible ?GabeKnight wrote: Tue Oct 13, 2026 8:38 am Trying to use LLMs (openAI) to import new models. I'm in the process of "teaching" it, and so far - after 20 iterations or so - it still looks like this....![]()

Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (v10.0.6)
Sure, but only if you have the model exported as a MDB file first -> Unit data in the mod's "\Units" folder. Take my "Armoured Train" for example.terminator wrote: Sat Oct 17, 2026 2:57 pm Changing a model’s texture to create a new model for another country is possible ?
Just using a new texture with the unit's name with the vanilla game does not work (e.g. \Units\Texture\Somua_S35.png).
You can change a unit picture, no problem. But changing the texture: yes, problem.
That's one reason why I go through all the trouble trying to export/import models into OoB...

Re: The "Gabe-Mod" (v10.0.6)
The very first scen of the "Allied" campaign, Norway, was unexpectedly challenging using my mod. The naval part, at least. The coastal guns and the enemy cruiser shredded my units to pieces. The surpisingly weak "Skua" tac. bomber was no big help. On turn 18 or so I had to actually reload a savegame from turn 10 or else I wouldn't have sunk the "Admiral Hipper".
Oh, well, it worked. Yeah, I could've used the torpedo bomber instead, but then probably never again...
The naval battles in the "Pacific" campaigns were fun using my mod, especially with the extended movement. But this one was quite hard, no naval supremacy for me this time.
There was some "Allied" naval scen in the Mediterranean if I recall correctly... so that one has to be tested for balance, too, I guess...
