If you mean LBMS, then yes they are still alive. I just received an order this week (in the US). Great service. One week from payment to receipt.

I made a mistake on the earlier R&R. Matt Zajac had indeed initially submitted a Sassanid list. He subsequently changed it to Palmyran.

Sorry for the earlier, incorrect post.

I have the army in 15mm. For variety's sake, I mixed Essex, Museum, Old Glory, Legio Heroica and Mirliton. They do vary in size, but in large BG's they look fine. I would post pictures, if I could figure out how to do so.

"to boot" is a Texas phrase. I could explain it but first I would have to see your credentials. You might well be a Yankee.....

I would put in a vote for the Ayyubid Egyptians. Drilled cavalry in large amounts and Saladin to boot. What's not to like?

Second Rank MF Bow

Consider a unit of Byzantine Skoutatoi, front rank spear, rear (2nd) rank bow.

Question:

Can the bow fire in the normal Shooting Phase as would any other unit; or are they limited to support shooting in the Impact Phase?

On which page(s) would I find this answer?

Thank you, gentlemen.

What constitutes "STEADY"?

Gentlemen,

Am I correct in assuming that a spear unit in DISRUPTED status retains the spear bonus? I ask because I had always assumed not, but a careful reading of the POA's doesn't mention DISRUPTED as a reason for losing the spear POA.

Thanks,

Is the part you are refering to referring to the 2 inch step forwards? If so the step forwards cant coutn regardless if the LH are no other enemy to hit on the way in. No. This section deals with the distance a unit MUST consider it's charge distance, i.e. regular distance + 2 MU, in instances wher...

No. You can only declare charges if within normal movement range (including reductions for terrain etc..). Whether the target is capable of evading or not is irrelevant. On page 58, right hand column, 2nd paragraph it says to allow 2MU extra. Is this (a) specific to shock and (b) does this apply to...

Newbie Question (Again)

We had the following situation come up this afternoon: Unit A (LH x 4) faced enemy Unit B (MF bow x 6) . In the exchange of fire Unit A went disordered, then subsequently fragmented. In it's movement turn, it passed a cohesion test, turned 180 degrees moved 3 inches and turned 180 again. The net eff...

Difficult Forward Moves for Newbies

I'm looking for some help in sorting out the whole "difficult forward move" concept. As I understand it, once a BG is within 6 inches of another BG of formed troops, the actions open to the first BG become restricted unless said BG is accompanied by a general. So far; so good. Now what, th...
