Arrrr but they were the days of real live roleplaying - we spent many an hour in the Asgrad Minis shop in Nottingham and it was always a shock for people who tagged along to find people making proper chain mail in the corner :-)

Hammy - I still have those figures somewhere!

New Review

A new review has just gone up at the rebuilt www.wargamesjournal.com site - apparently though the DNS settings may take a while to spread round the world (do not understand all that but still) SO ... you may still get the holding page showing, if you do it is a case of waiting I am afraid. WJ wants ...

Charging and line of sight

Hi
Do friendly troops block line of sight in normal play like in shooting? If so can you have a BG of non shock infantry in front of your maniac shock ( I have to test not to charge) types to keep them from heading off against your will - as they can't see the enemy so can't charge?

Sorry Nik - missed your reply We had a really good intro game for people tonight - LR Romans versus the mighty Brits. Everyone thought it looked and felt like it should and considering 3 out of 5 had never played and us two 'vets' had only a handful of games under the belt it all went very smoothly ...

FoG in Enfield North London UK

Our club based in N London is about to embark on regular FoG games on a Tuesday night 7-11. Although most of us have 10mm these can be played against 15mm at a pinch. We are not fussed about only undercoated figures at the moment so don't be put off!

This is basically the reason we soon switched from using 28mm to 10mm (presume 15mm would give the same room as bases are the same) - in 10mm there is loads of room around the flanks and rear - in fact flanking marauding BGs of light cav have been causing havoc :-)

As far as I can see from the chart a 'difficult' move is simple for all but 'other undrilled' which is something we had missed to be honest - so thanks for asking or we might have not found out til we tried it on someone who knows the rules well!!!!

I use the ones from 'products for wargamers' and they are great - I ended up with a couple of sets of the aluminium and a brass set - you can make different combinations up depending on what game you are playing - great product!

Elephants ... mounted?

May be a daft question but we are wondering if elephants count as mounted or are a seperate class - we presumed a seperate class so some weapons get a POA against them (swords I think) as it didn't say it didn't - but then we noticed an entry which said 'all mounted except elephants' or something si...

My pleasure mate ... We can test it out on my year 6 class at school :-) As I am in charge of the Upper School I can't see it being a problem ;-) Cut down PoA tables and only a few troop types (on cards with the stats on there anyway so you can put 'needs 4 against xx, 5 against xxx') cut down the c...

Please do a cut down intro version for kids - it would be very useful to use at school :-) If this is any help the Key Stage 2 Primary Curriculum covers Invaders and Settlers (to England) and the kids normally study the Romans, Ancient Brits (Boudicca mainly) and then Saxons and Vikings. Now they ar...
