Very nice Trenchers, Bardolph. It is almost impossible to see the Dip. MarkSieber, is the reflecting surface of your Indians a result of the Minvax or photography? Thanks. I do spray my dipped figures with a matte sealer afterwards. I don't like the shiny effect of the "satin" finish. Eit...

Yeah, in spite of reading ahead of time that the Tudor was the one to get, I tried a couple other shades first as I hadn't tracked down the Tudor yet. Mahogany was dark, but very reddish, and the Antique Walnut was very brown. The walnut works well on figs with a lot of white, tribesmen types etc. L...

Re: quick shade

I got in trouble for saying this at Warlords stand at Partizan, but all quick shade really is, wait for it, its furniture varnish!!. Go to B+Q, Focus etc and theres tins of the stuff, I pay about £4 a tin and it ranges from clear (matt, satin or gloss) to very dark (good for brown horses) medium pi...

It really is so much easier when pictures are posted :? True but it is slighlty easier to do an ASCII diagram as I don't have to go to the games room, get out the toys, take a photo or three, upload them to the PC, post them on photobucket and then post here :P http://www.vassalengine.org/community...

something to draw unusual situation and post it on forum would be good Might be a bit of a pain but I use the De Bellis Vassalus module for the VASSAL online game engine. The "counters" are like DBA bases and thus easily used to represent FOG situations. For that matter, you could probabl...

I agree with Si's last post.
I thought the feedback forum was for feedback, silly me. :D
Rules questions are ending up split between the two forums as it stands.

Then there are a lot of internet providers that are having this issue. In Canada, the UK and the US from the postings in this thread. Which is more likely? To borrow a line from another forum "Please fix or do somefink" Posts take too long to load as well. Got it twice posting this message...

Personally a big fan of the Wargame Accessories metal bases. Pretty cheap- $5 for 24, sturdy since they are metal, no need to try and apply magnetic bases to each base, simply line your storage box with magnetic sheet (far less fiddly than the other way round, trust me on this one). I buy the white ...

Hehe, hi Alex. As I was reading the rules again last night it occured to me that had I wheeled the LF a little further the LH group A would have had to wheel to their front to evade following the direction of charge. The rule says you can wheel 180 or 90 degrees, players choice, unless the direction...

All in all the three LH BG's are in a hideous position and really should not have been anywhere near there in the first place. If they fail a CMT to fall back facing the enemy just turn round and run away. :D This is the part I will relay to my opponent! Or perhaps, on second thought, maybe I won't...

We assumed that too Brian. We read the part about not being able to choose between your own rear and the direction of the charge if you are flanked, and assumed that meant no choice whatsoever. Never occured to us you could do what Hammy describes. But it does say "player choice" so I gues...

Thanks for the reply Hammy, that pretty much jibes with what Simon said in the other thread this post was originally in: 1. You can declare the charge in whatever direction you like as long as it can physically contact one BG by doing so. So its up to you as the charger to make use of this when it i...

Hope all that helps It does indeed. Thanks Simon. I didn't want to charge group A with the Cav as I figured the flank attack from the LF would do pretty well. It did :) We played the rest somewhat wrong though. He evaded with B and since we couldn't figure out if C had to check to evade or could ch...

Interesting. We had a related situation in our first test of the rules this evening. A battleline of three light horse BG was charged by a foot skirmish unit on one flank and a cavalry unit from the front. http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w319/Bardspics/DeBellisVassalusMap.png The foot skirmishers...

Might look at the Baccus Warmaster army packs.

You would still need a few single packs to fill it out though.

For instance in the Early Republican WMA army you get 5 units of Hastatii/Principes, which amounts to 15 bases, so you would need an extra pack.
