Re: square and flank assault
This means that when an infantry unit is flank charged by enemy infantry can choose to form square in order to avoid the cohesion drop and the double poa? Ok the square will lose anyway but surely it has better chances especially if the unit forming it is of good quality. Concerning the supports IIR...

Re: shooting at rear bases
What about squares then. Suppose a square is contacted in one corner by enemy. Which bases, if any, would be eligible targets for firing purposes?

So, if I understand correctly, units in melee can be valid targets for both players

Re: Some Rule questions
Can both the attacker and defender flank march?
If yes, what happens if both choose the same flank and one of them arrives?

Re: Field of Glory goes 2.0 !
I like many of the changes. However i think that the authors went on the other side in "nurfing" superior troops and Romans in particular. I would also like to see attrition points lost when a CinC is killed. As for the rules format i would really like to have them in hard copies even afte...

Re: Some Rule questions
In pg 35 General Movement Rules it is stated that the active player may move any units that....were not forced to make an outcome move during this turns assault and firing phase.
Does this mean than a unit forced to retire by the non active players firing in the firing phase cannot move this turn?

Re: What faction(s) to collect?
Yes it is obvious that the French guard will be outnumbered. Has the guard quality vs quantity be tested on table?

Why do you write that with the French imperial guard you can't go for a placing?

Re: What faction(s) to collect?
Look at uniform websites until you see something that makes you go "Ooooh, pretty!" and build your army around that. A good place to start (apart from the Osprey "bibles" of course): http://centjours.mont-saint-jean.com/unitesPR.php Contains detailed coloured uniforms for every ...

Re: And more questions
A way around your countercharging problem is to have rear support units not more than 2MU from the leading unit. Rear support reduces your opponent's dice which is going to make it harder to break your unit. How can cavalry be supported by infantry and hence reduce the dice of the enemy contacted? ...

Re: What faction(s) to collect?
Hello everyone, As a complete newbie to both Field of Glory and Napoleonic wargaming as a whole, I have no collection and no idea where to start. Since discovering this game, I've been trying to learn more and more about the course of the war (I'm reading The Spanish Ulcer right now). Anyway...ther...

Re: Triumph of Nations Errata
2 cav divisions are not compulsory. The composition of the cav divisions are an issue as it states that if a cav division contains both heavy and light cqv, it must have at least 8 bases of each, hence 2 light cav units and 2 heavy cav units

Anglo Netherlands army in Belgium 1815: If i counted correctly i think that at 800 aps you cannot field a Guard division (requires 2 foot guards and 1 battery to form a guard division).
