Some Rule questions
1.Suppose there is a wavering Artillery unit, taking 3 hits from an enemy in medium range.
Exactly behind it there is an infantry regiment from another division in square
1 MU behind the above mentioned square there is another square from the same division with the artillery
Less than 2 MUs behind the second square there is a difficult going.
The artillery cannot avoid in any case the squares.
Which outcome move will take place and how?
2. Do squares get rear support and flank support?

Re: Some Rule questions
First off you can't be knocked below wavering from shooting at medium range. You can only break an enemy by shooting at close range, so no need to worry on that one
Re: Some Rule questions
Its outcome result will be: retire D6 + 21.Suppose there is a wavering Artillery unit, taking 3 hits from an enemy in medium range.

Which outcome move will take place and how?
It would normally burst through the unit(s) behind. However, by the time you've measured the distance to the square + the distance through the square + the depth of the linber, and also allowing for the fact that its move in diffuclt terrain is halved (page 62), the only possible outcome is for the limber to be placed immediately behind the square, facing the direction moved, partially in the rough terrain. The square must take a CT for being passed through by a unit making an outcome move.
2. Do squares get rear support and flank support?
A sqaure can get flank support in the normal way, because its the position of the supporting unit that's the deciding factor.
Since squares have no rear they cannot get rear support.

Thanks for the reply Terry. Something more on squares: There is no mention of square movement allowance so i take it that squares cannot normally move.
Can they slide (after CMT of course?)

Re: Some Rule questions
There is a sentence in the movement section which states that all units can move 1MU in any terrain. This includes squares - they may always move 1MU.
Re: Some Rule questions
In pg 35 General Movement Rules it is stated that the active player may move any units that....were not forced to make an outcome move during this turns assault and firing phase.
Does this mean than a unit forced to retire by the non active players firing in the firing phase cannot move this turn?

Re: Some Rule questions
Yes.
As you were forced to make a outcome move (a retire) during the Firing phase.

Re: Some Rule questions
Can both the attacker and defender flank march?
If yes, what happens if both choose the same flank and one of them arrives?

Re: Some Rule questions
Only the player with the initiative can flank march with a single division. Either player can have one delayed Division.
See p.106 Flank March and p.101.
