REPAIRING DAMAGED SUPPLY DEPOTS
Pic on left- In this test I let the Germans damage my depot with a Heinkel 117 bomber, it stripped it from 10 to 7.
(The 7 has become orange as a warning to us that it's not operating at peak efficiency).
At first I waited about 12 turns to see if the empty depot would repair itself back up to 10, but it didn't, it stayed at 7.
I then sent that bulldozer in to see if any option to repair came up, it didn't so after a few turns I pulled the dozer out.
Pic on right- I then sent this Engineer in and BINGO, the depot began automatically repairing at 1 point per turn without me having to click anything. Here it's climbed back to 8, and in a couple more turns it was back at a healthy white 10.(the 8 is yellow because yellow is healthier than when it was an orange 7)
PS- I read somewhere that other units besides Engineers can also repair depots, but I haven't really got time to test the zillions of units in the game to find out and will try to find the info in the manual and/or the Unit Navigation Tool or wherever..:)

Brilliant Spike. You're doing good work for the newbies around here, meself included.

So, as I see it, the demolition is more of a scorched earth tactic, denying supply the enemy will inevitably take back.

Suggestion for usage:
- Send aerial reconnaisance into enemy territory, looking for undefended enemy depots;
- deploy paratroopers behind enemy lines, or send SAS/commandos/teishin dan/partisans around;
- Seize and demolish for as long as quick response teams don't appear;
- if other easy targets nearby, repeat 3,
- if not, exfiltrate, or fight to the death.

5 supplies per strike will leave 1 tank hurting; 2 strikes will leave 3 infantry groups unsupplied! That is quite cunning.

This is very good work Spike. Maybe it should be stickied in a new player forum guide as suggested?

Another aspect of supply that probably should be mentioned is its use for deploying units. If you have reserve units in your pool they can only be deployed if there is enough supply on the map region you are looking to place them. This again looks at air supply for deploying planes and land supply for ground units. Put simply, if you have a land unit that requires 4 supply points in your reserves, it can only be deployed at a location that has 4 supply points available.

This confused the heck out of me for a while. Why couldn't I deploy my reserves that were bought and available and sitting in the pool? Pressing the space bar again will show you supply levels available for deployment. Obviously selecting a reserve unit will also show highlighted tiles on the map where supply is available and it can be deployed.

Something more elegant would be if someone compiled all OldSpike findings and instructions and stickied that instead.
