Yeah, having many units with an experience disadvantage is a terrifying prospect for those 45 scenarios where the enemy has 5 stars. At least there are not many better unit types for the enemy.

I once again reuploaded the 2026 base version. No content changes, just renamed the folder to "Battlefield Europe v2.5.1 Locarnus 2026 base" instead of "Battlefield Europe v2.5 Locarnus 2026 base", so that it looks nice in the mod enabler and is less confusing for new players.

In terms of compatibility, I'm still not 100% convinced that there are no issues with BE 2.5.1, beyond some harmless graphics changes.
But it also does little good to postpone the update forever, with so much feedback and issues becoming obvious due to the HerzogSieg youtube playthrough.

Reupload of the 2026-06 update, now including highly experimental translations for the main Battlefield Europe scenario! For russian, german and french languages.
The library files are not translated, just the texts of the main BE scenario. There are problems with several pictures and with formating.
Those are machine translations. So the english original is much better, not just regarding the formating and so on.
No guarantees that it works, not tested at all. Just an experiment!

- BE One fewer air unit transports (4 instead of 5), but one more train from start
- BE Finnish units can use trains
- BE Fixed Axis fleet transformation after capturing 3rd oil field (unit types)
- BE Italian battleships Duilio and Andrea Doria introduced, but need more work
- BE Cleaned up some messages between turns 21 and 23
- BE Early 1942 prestige increase back up from 50 to 60
- BE Bf 109 F-4+ upgrade announced one turn before it is available
- BE KV-1B not available for purchase anymore (but later KV-1C still available)
- BE T-34/41 not available for purchase anymore (but later T-34/42 still available)
- BE SU-85 available (only from tank class, but can still switch to camo AT mode)
- BE Izyum rail connection & added another rail line from Poltava to the Southeast
- BE Hero added to Soviet inf moving towards Kerch/Sevastopol
- BE Stalingrad defending infantry units have more heroes (with great defense)
- BE German 13. Inf repositioned and renamed 252. Inf, added hero
- BE One German 3.7cm Pak changed to 5cm Pak and added hero
- BE Kradschützen recon unit added hero
- BE BV 138C naval bomber can now fly over all terrain, not just sea tiles
- BE Two early convoy corvettes have a lower chance to spawn each turn
- BE Allied subs have one less ini thanks to slowgtp, are now more in line with Axis
- BE Early retreat from Africa zone, checking for 3 Axis units, extended to Tunisia,
Unit Changes
- Transport planes have much higher defense, trains have slightly higher def
- Some german switch 2-engine fighters rebalanced, incl all dedicated night fighters!
- German night fighters better ini and airdef in non-fighter mode, but less ground attack
- Bf 109 F-4+ available two weeks earlier
- German March 1942 infantry upgrade available two weeks earlier
- German March 1942 2.8cm gun upgrades available two weeks earlier (eg Sd 221+)
- German T-34 prices slightly increased
- Towed Nblwf have one more air defense
- Italian fighter lineups closer together in terms of prestige cost
- Reduced ammo for early to mid Italian fighters
- First Hs 129 version has 1 better air defense, B-2 has better defensive air attack

From what I have seen, the machine translation is unfortunately pretty bad.
I wanted to do it separately and with some more testing, but I probably have to cut back on modding for a while, due to some ongoing real life situations.
Thus I'm not sure when I have the time to work on that again.

The 8 PAW 600 is decent for a 2 leg movement switchable artillery. It has an integrated transport since it can switch to camo AT mode, though that has limited practical use.

Raunosavolainen could test out the Jagdtiger+ r8s8. Its low rate of fire makes it pretty underwhelming against all units except the biggest enemy tanks.
Low ammo and close defense is problematic as well, but massive ground defense could make it a cornerstone if kept in the open.
Some mobile Flak improvements possible and the Sturmpanther training option for Kapl. But otherwise the airforce needs the prestige.

Essentially same options as discussed in the last unit roster post.
Fw 190 and Bf 109 have the final or near final upgrade options. Still some development for the ground attack Fw 190 and the late Ta 152 is also in the Fw 190 family.
Ju 387 is new, but more as a Battlefield Europe option. The abysmal air defense rating would make it an extremely easy target against enemy 5 star fighters.
Two Me 262 variants are available, as well as the Ar 234 jet bomber. The latter has limited attack values and no defensive air attack, but at least it has great air defense.
Though of course the prestige is the limiting factor.

So, I will be dissecting each in portions.
starting with SE units.
last 45 se unit will be arty to start to try and get as quick as possible to at least 3 stars before I try and pop a hero on to them.
Brodrick is struggling as Cavalry, but like utilizing his spotting hero and I am hoping that the 3rd hero is a buff to his defense to help him on the field. I may play around with recons as an option for him, but with 2 dedicated recons on my team I am thinking a 3rd is overkill.
Patrick Lee is 1 away from being a 4 star beast as an extremely effective infantry, do not foresee any changes for him, but hoping the 3rd hero is something in the attack arena to enhance his punch.
Dimitri is a super effective beast that I have to effectively limit my use of as he is fully trained as he will not reach 5 stars.
Makorin is the best no changes and may play on trying to get him to 5 stars just because I can.
Eskuche will also remain unchanged and am hoping to boost him up to over 1000 kills before we are halfway done through 45 averaging 80 kills per scenario, might need to change them up to a tank as I lean more into other infantry options for my other units.
(We shall see.)
Paul Wilde will get 1 more scenario as an artillery, but might make him the weakest option for artillery just to get him up to that 4th star threshold and then from then on he will be the effective and highly useful Hetzer.
Thejf will remain an artillery but boost up to the 15cm arty option that I am hoping to get either movement or att 3 for 1st hero, and will change to an infantry or Hungarian Tank when the 4th star or close enough to 4th star happens. Hoping to get there by 4th scenario, but might be too ambitious. Need to get kills quickly in order to get him 2 heroes by Berlin.
Those are all of my thoughts on se focus for 45.

Last SE unit is annoying to get, since it has to come at the start of the first 45 scenario due to the bonus SE hero joining in this first scenario. And the difficulty has to be readjusted for each try. Your SE plan looks good to me.
I also thought about Toldi instead of Kav 44 for Brodrick, but at least enemy soft attack scales not as much as hard attack. Which probably makes the Kav 44 more survivable against enemy tanks.

USA East Coast roster is tough. Also very limited prestige, but reinforcements and many upgrades still to do.
I mainly listed the straight forward upgrade options.
Thematically there probably should be a pure upgrade scenario before USA East Coast, like the one I added before India in the Africa Corps campaign?
4 units can still be purchased. So that there are 32 current + 4 purchases + 4 USA East Coast gifts = 40 normal core units and 3 bonus SE/Std for USA Midwest and West Coast. But of course prestige is the main problem with double Rommel.
Perhaps two additional rather cheap infantry, which are similar speed to all those horse drawn artillery?

Klingenberg joins the core with a Brandenburger 45 unit.
Lehmann could try the 12.8 cm Ari 44 r8 with integrated transport SdKfz 8. Stats in arty mode are comparable to 10.5 sK 18, with more attack and range, but less rof. Though much better defense.
It can also switch to camo AT mode, but can only defend in that mode (similar to the 10.5cm Flak but with camo).
Paratroopers and PzA 44 special infantry are both expensive, but can also add quite a bit of utility.
Same goes for the Wurfrahmen 43.

Askeri name is used for two units?
Carius joins the core with a Lion heavy tank unit, which is comparable to the Tiger II B++.
One ground unit should get the special script upgrade to Tiger II B++.
Goose has the Leopard r9 to look forward to, it is a late addition and thus at the very end of the upgrade options.
Same for the VK 4502 B r9s8 for TestDummy. It is an expensive monster and there is even an s10 version I think for USA Midwest, so do not give overstrength for East Coast.

Rollwage joins the core with a Go 229 flying wing heavy jet fighter and Eder joins the core with a rocket boosted Me 262 jet fighter.
The upgrade options listed above are pretty straight improvements.
Of course two of them should instead take the special script upgrades to Ar 234 tac/strat jet bomber and Do 335 B-2 heavy fighter bomber.
On one hand it would make sense to give those special upgrades to very experienced aircraft.
On the other hand it would make sense for the weakest two units to get one of those much more resilient airframes for free.
Eg the Ju 87 / Ju 387 and the Hs 129 have very limited air defense for 1945.
