HOWEVER, I'm not back with empty hands.
I still had time to develop a little sub-mod for Modern Conflicts.
I explain : I wanted to replay one of the Gulf Wars scenario (1991 or 2003), and I noticed that Stormbringer modified most of the vehicle pictures (so they are from that time and with desert painting), but infantry units were left with their vanilla pictures.
If we open the units screen, we could thus imagine that infantry dressed in 2025 central-Europe camos are running next to 1991 armors with desert paintings. I consider that correct pictures improves the immersion, so I thought it felt a bit wrong and decided to fix it.
I made a sub-mod (that you should use with GSJME) that replace 202X pictures by pictures from 1991 and 2003 for most units involved in both Gulf War scenarios.
I also made another submod to return to vanilla pictures once you have finished to play Gulf Wars scenarios and want to return to contemporary times.
Some examples of new unit screen pictures :

And I also decided to give the British AT infantry unit from South Atlantic '82 its own picture :
I cheat a bit since the photo was taken 8 years earlier, but it depict well the anti tank weapons used by the British during the war.

How to install ?
1) Download the general folder here : https://www.mediafire.com/file/sdr9cb6z ... s.rar/file
2) Dezip
3) put the two foders ("MdC_10-HistoricalPictures" and "MdC_11-HistoricalPicturesCancel") in the same folder than the other full mods. For example : precisely here, if you have the Steam version :
4) Launch GSJME
5) Activate "MdC_10-HistoricalPictures" with GSJME
6) Play
When you want to bring back the MC vanilla pictures to return to a 202X scenario, it is a similar procedure than with the submod with special icons for grand scenarios.
1) Go to JSGME
2) Desactivate "MdC_10-HistoricalPictures"
3) Activate "MdC_11-HistoricalPicturesCancel"
Basically, "MDC_10" submod load all the new historical pictures and replace the original ones.
On the contrary "MDC_11" contains the original pictures that "MDC_10" replace. So you just need to activate "MDC_11" to load again all the original pictures and desactivate the historical ones from "MDC_10".
Each folders contains no more than 30 pictures, so GSJME will work instantly![]()

To be honest, my last works burned me a bit.The 3rd russian chapter was very long to make (due to the COIN mission), I had to make a fix soon after its release (that was long again), then immediately after I started the korean war grand scenario that was particularly long (the research alone about the army structure was something
),... so it was a bit too much and I took a break

But energy is slowly coming back, and I have already started to work on the 2nd serbian chapter.
The first scenario of the chapter is ready, 2 more to do. Then some tests, since I try for the first time to add heroes and I am not sure to have added them correctly.
When will it be ready, then? Hehe, I also need to try all those new contents... March of the Eagles, Fantasy Corps, Europe at War, etc,... what is happening, so many totally fresh releases in just a month or two![]()
The next chapter will not have too fancy scenarios ; people tend to prefer smaller and simpler missions, and after the russian counterinsurgency mission and the Korean War, I am also more prone to do something more simple![]()
the plot will continue to advance, and we will return to the Balkans with Serbia.

As I mentioned in another thread, I also plan to create custom playlists for certain regions, so we can hear something new depending on where the scenarii takes place.
I had already started with the Sahel region for example, which no longer uses the "desert" playlist made by Akkula so that our ears have a little more diversity.
Therefore, the new chapter obviously includes this feature, and the previous chapter has also been updated with the special playlist for the Balkans.
So, this last chapter of the Part 3 concludes the first cycle of the general story; now, the factions involved will shoot at each other more openly from part 4 onwards. Until now, we were still in a long prologue (of a year and a half)
However, before we truly begin World War III (don't worry about Asia and the Middle East, they'll join the fray very soon), I'm going to polish the last few elements I've been putting off. For example, it's high time I finalize the creation of the first Ukrainian chapter!

There are a few differences, the original scenario was harder (2 stealth bomber instead of one, F-15 spawned earlier, etc...), but it is similar to what you played.
The scenario is made to be hard, impossible to not lose a bunch of core units.
The situation: half of the invading army is already in a bad shape at the start of the scenario (the 1st army brigade, that you are suposed to rescue), and the real Serbian air force has only around 30 fighters (and that number count the J-22 that are more attackers than fighters), that is far to be enough to hold against what you are put against. Realisticaly, your air force can't even hope to conquer the skies. Either you don't deploy them at all to focus on ground troops, either you send them in suicidal missions to hinder the enemy and attack isolated drones or weak fighters. In both case, you can't conquer air supremacy.
The two bonus fighters are meant to assist the player that manage to keep his pilots alive, it is a little bonus to help him destroy the B-2 bomber. However, if the played decided to focused on the ground, impossible to shot him down with only two Mig-29.
Some advives :
- Don't take any attacker. J-22 or gazelles, they will be destroyed very quickly.
- Don't take any AA defenses. You need every unit slot to have boots on the ground ; but you should have enough prestige points to replenish damaged units. Accept to take hits from bombers.
- If you choose to deploy your fighters (I think you should), target drones and weak bombers. Don't even try to destroy fighters. Accept that the skies is not yours. you can still reduce the strike by destroying as much bomber as you can, that will make the life of your soldiers easier (and longer, fortunately).
- Try to kill every damaged enemy units, especially the armors, but don't put your units at risk doing so.
- You need a balanced core on the ground, but the most useful unit is armor. Don't trust your artillery that much : enemy air force like to strike them and they are relatively weak anyway. There are many forest, fortification or cities on the map, so infantry is also a good choice.
- LEAVE THE F-15 ALONE !!!
As you can see in the replay, at turn 20, the enemy is out of gaz at that point and I would have been ready to annihilate him if I had 5 more turns ; so I had the opinion that difficulty was right that way.
It is suposed to be a desperate defense, I was afraid to make it too easy![]()
I will replay my campaign again to see what I could change.

They were gone nowhere since... they don't even exist in the first place![]()
Akkula designed Serbia as a minor faction. In "official" (or "Akkula-made") content, they are only available for Europe '22 grand scenario and have thus a very limited roster. Serbian anti-tank infantry don't exist, for example ; their only infantry units are already what I give so far : normal and heavy infantry.
However, you will be able to deploy anti-tank infantry in this serbian grand campaign from chapter 4 until the end.
There is already explanation about why you will be able to in the briefings, but I can't say no more ; it would spoil the story![]()
About the "attack of the clones", well, strategic situation is not at your advantage at all, at that moment.
1st Brigade was surprized and overwhelmed by joint NATO airstrikes and croatian counterattack, leaving yours as the only large fighting unit still operational before your borders.
Against you, the Guards Armoured Mechanized Brigade is one of the largest croatian military unit, equiped with most (maybe all, I don't remind) the armors that the country have, and that avoided combat since the start of the war to strike when you are the most vulnerable. And NATO support it with its large airforce.
This is in this very bad situation that I put the player in command in mission 5, hence the desperate defense mission. Situation is really bad.
But according to the scenario editior, things are not THAT bad.
You have 59 units against the 105 of the opponent.
That don't reach the 3:1 ratio that is theoretically requiered for an assault... But granted : in Panzer Corps, a good defensive position don't match a numerical advantage.
I think I will remove some croatian armors anyway![]()
Colonel level don't need to be a challenge, after all. I should soften this scenario.
