It's difficult and often tedious to find new images that relate to a specific situation or scene, e.g. Japanese banzai attack with frontal perspective, and I also have to colour them in, which takes a lot of time. It's not necessarily faster or easier with AI, but I really enjoy it.KI.png :D

In the replays I can see that the Japanese are holding up well and inflicting painful losses on the marines.

Losses on both sides in the battle for Iwo-Jima
United States (U.S. Marines & Navy):

Killed: approx. 6,800

Wounded: approx. 19,200

Total casualties: ~26,000

➡️ This corresponds to almost a third of the troops deployed (approx. 70,000 men).
➡️ No other battle in the Pacific claimed so many casualties in such a short time.
.............................................................................................
.............................................................................................
🇯🇵 Imperial Japanese Army (IJA):

Casualties: approx. 18,000-19,000 (practically all defenders)

Prisoners: only about 200-300 (including many wounded, unconscious or near-death soldiers)

➡️ The Japanese defence force consisted of around 21,000 men under Lieutenant General Kuribayashi.
➡️ The casualty rate was therefore over 95% - an almost complete loss of the garrison.
📌 Note:

The civilian population was no longer present on Iwo Jima at this point, as it had been evacuated in advance.
The battle was characterised by tunnel warfare, fanaticism and systematic defence to the last man - with catastrophic consequences for both sides.

Some people keep their wealth in platinum and gold bars, others in stocks and jugs, while we keep our prestige in ships and aircraft carriers ))) And so we advance, the Japanese defend themselves, regardless of the casualties ))) Toby's statistics are good, but the losses of the US Army during the assault on the completely empty island of Kysku, abandoned by the Japanese, cause laughter and doubt about their professionalism as warriors in general )

Oh, it was an epic defence. The Japanese were charging like a runaway train. But we fought back, although many of our guys won't be returning to their native Texas. And now the capture of the airfield in 1942, at least that's what it says in the description.

Progress on the Spanish campaign is moving more slowly than expected. I've discovered that all Nationalist artillery units are currently missing both sound and image files. I've decided to focus only on fixing the missing sound for now, otherwise it would take too long. Also, two more missions will be added, bringing the total to nine so far. In addition, I'm also working on another campaign on the side.."Scorched Earth at Voronezh" – A Red Army Campaign in 1942.

That's also a topic I'm considering in the Spanish campaign. There were no armored trains in the Battle of Irún, but I'd like to include a Republican one here and there in some missions. However, there isn't one available in the PAK mod, so I'll borrow one from another nation and relabel it accordingly.

I believe in you, my friend, that you will manage or even create a new unit, because you are talented!!! Look at the cool skyscrapers and tankers you made )

I need to finish off the Japanese, as I didn't finish the Polish campaign because the angry Red Army troops are waiting for me )))

Check out the Legacy of Versailles - Redux 1.2 mod! You might find the sounds you need there, as it features Franco's Spanish nationalists, Italian rattles, and the German Condor Legion ,various interbrigades of the Reds.

Spreading your energy across numerous projects and mods, as well as battling the entire world, does not lead to anything positive (C) Adolf )))

Well, Iwo Jima has been conquered, Uncle Uzbek, well done! Thank you all for your attention, the rest is in the screenshots and replays. The final battle kept me on edge throughout the game, as the Japanese sometimes counterattacked very skilfully, but we were tougher and more stress-resistant.

It’s great to see you letting others take part in your adventure on Iwo Jima – and not just in this campaign. You also engage with the work of other creators and modders, sharing your images, impressions, and experiences. :!: DANKE
Well then, on to the next adventure.

My friend, we are avid fans of our favourite game, but since it is quite old, our little brotherhood must work together and interact!
Thank you to everyone who makes mods, companies, chapters, and maps to keep our game relevant and up to date.
