Re: Auto break for 2-stand battle groups

Wow, this makes the 2-stand triarii units in the MRR list a bitter pill to swallow.

Auto break for 2-stand battle groups

There are two places in the rules that state that battle groups with only one stand remaining are removed. Is this true for two-stand superior and elite units? If so that would seem to negate one of their major advantages.

Have I missed some special ruling or errata?

thanks,
AJ

Any advice on a workable 800-point list? Local meta game is MRR, LRR, Seleucid and Carthaginian

So building a new build of my Roman list and decided to search the forums to see if anyone had asked about allies. Found this thread and discovered that I did! LOL! I now have the Pergeme contingent painted and will be trying it. I went for the 4-pack of lancers, 4-pack of Gaul superior cav and one ...

I like doing 1 unit at a time. Once it's done I base and flock it. Once it's done and posted to my blog I'm refreshed and excited for the next unit.

Start with smaller units until you get in the rhythm of painting the army. Start with maybe a light cavalry or light infantry unit.

I don't have the list handy so forgive any mistakes. Minimize the amount of Gaul infantry you take, maximize the Vet. spears and Elephants. My experience is Hannibal is worth the cost. Don't underestimate the value of the Gaul and Numidian Cavalry. The Roman player won't have much to oppose them so ...

I think the crux of the issue is the points system for building your army doesn't appear to have a base cost for each unit, that you then add the cost per base to. A lot of systems do have this to limit a historical swarm builds. It wouldn't have to be a large penalty, 5 points per BG would probably...

I thought so but it would appear that some people here have different interpretation.
Methinks those 'some people' have mis-interpreted the rules.

I've had the best luck printing my flag, mirror imaged on cheap copy paper (the cheaper the better surprisingly) and then using white glue applied to one side to glue the flag together over the staff. After 5 minutes, while the glue is still semi-plyable, bend the flag up into a natural looking unfu...

Holy crapola Batman!

Learn something new every day. I didn't realize you lose 1 per 2 for not fighting LF. That definitely changes things! I think we've been playing that one wrong.
