So I'm leaning towards Slingers/Cretans/archers over the LH for now at least cause I've got the figures. I like the point about Velites beinging an aggresive anti-skirmisher and I do have them as well so I intend to try both options. I don't like going with BGs of 4 stands, but I usually play with a...

I'd worry that with only 7 fighting units yes they are rock hard but the flanks might get swamped. I'd look at 3x4 for the cavalry - much more manouverable that way. I'd like to see it if anyone takes you on head first with infantry - ooo that's going to hurt them. Regards Graham I am not sure how ...

First Late Republican Roman list 800pt
This is my first attempt at a Late RepRoman list. I'd like to think I could take it to tourney though I am not sure how it will do there. I'd really like it if I can get it into a time period campaign with the local gaming group. Anyways, let me know what you think: 4x TC 1x BG Vet Legion - 4 stands...

Don't know how many of ya'll saw my FoG of Ice and Fire lists, but I went with the approach of heroes being a unigue figure/ stand that is part of the BG. But really, heroes are a modifier that give thier host BG unigue abilities and modifiers. They add cost to purchasing the BG, and can only be giv...

I recently won my first battle with the Medieval Danes - took apart a condotta force and even held thier pikes with my heavy weapons guys and an IC. Anyways, at first I though this list was all about the heavy dudes and the armore mtd xbow, but really I liked a half/half mix of the hvy wpn BG's and ...

Brennus's Gauls
I don't have Immortal Fire, yet. What would be the best Army to depict Brennus's Gauls - the Brennus who invaded Greece, not the one that sacked Rome. would the Gallic list from the Rise of Rome book be more accurate or the Galatian List (not sure how it looks) from Immortal Fire work?

So I've been working with ideas for the factions. One of the larger houses is barely described in the series and some of the smaller factions are quite active militarily. So I decided to organize them between Major/Minor factions not based on So here is what I've come up with for factions: Major Fac...

Re: Troy - just like the film ?
Hi guys I am new to FoG and to the ancient period and know next to nothing. I watched the film Troy again the other day and while I assume it's basically a work of fiction/myth ? I still find it an exciting idea to game and model. So my (first) question is ... Are there suitable armies to be led by...

A FoG of Ice and Fire - Fan FoG fantasy supplement
I've been reading the ASoIaF series and see potential in it as a FoG campaign or simply a fun couple of Saturdays. So, I created a couple list based on the Wildlings and Night's Watch from the books. They seemed a good place to start as they are smaller factions, but more fantasy then most of the ot...
