Halloween? Yes it is Holy Eve before all Saints Day, but Catholicism loves adopting pagan traditions. In America Halloween is pagan festival celebrating the Gods of candy and winter squash.

p.s.The dialogue is Sparticus is incredibly hokey. Thanks a lot Dalton Trumbo.

Can't think of any sites off the top of my head, but Gaul was mostly controlled at the time of the Roman conquests by two tribal confederations: the Aedui, and the Arverni.

Sim Farm is a classic! One of the things I liked about some of the old Maxis games was that they were inter-connected with other games. For example, you could build a badass city in Sim City 2000, and then cruise around it/blow it up in Sim Copter or in Streets of Sim City. Hey, here's an idea! Be a...

If people were always nice to each other they probably wouldn't be interested in games about violence. More likely games would all be about sex or farming, but hopefully no combination between the two

Nice demo! The demo says that I can unlock the Celtic campaign by finishing the Roman one, but when I finish the Roman campaign, the Celtic campaign is still locked. What's going on?

EDIT: On second thought, this probably should have gone in the tech support forum.

Of course, I don't have any problem to apologize to anyone who feel offended by the fact the his ignorance has caused a violation to the history of my nation. If you call me things, I don't care at all... but if you try to harm and distort the Hellenic history, then this is for me the biggest insul...

This is good info. Before, the website that you cited was not convincing or specific on the topic. I know believe that you are correct. I also believe that you owe several people apologies for insulting, yelling, and now gloating :P Seriously though, you should apologize. Your behavior was harmful f...

Thanks for the reply, Pip. You're resorting to the use of authority out of context pyros. The website that you have cited may be award winning because it is an excellent and educational site, but the article you have posted a link to is a brief summary of the hoplite, not a discussion of the etymolo...

There are many misconceptions about phalanx battle. For one, flanking actions were actually quite common. Since the hoplite shield covers half of the shield bearer and half of the man to his left, everyone in a hoplite phalanx would be shoving to his right to get better coverage from his neighbor's ...

In reality very few men died in the shield wall I don't know about that, contemporary sources often cite heavy losses and large numbers of men being slain. One Persian source exaggerated the carnage to so many as 9 in 10 participants in Greek battles getting killed! Another consideration is that if...

The formations in RTW suffer from the fact that their densities are ridiculously sparse. Remember when you say that the phalanx was "old and ineffective" by the fourth century B.C., that the dominant formation up until the early 18th century was a dense arrangment of men with pole-arms, an...

How are rockets obsolete? They're not. The Space shuttles all lifted off with rockets, satellites are launched with rockets, nuclear rocket technology has become very complex, rockets are used for air-to-air missile, air-to-surface missiles, surface-to-air missles, guided bombs, high-explosive-anti...
