Just an update.

I modified the list based on the feedback to: (from memory)

1x 4 Companions Cav,Armored, Elite, Drilled, Lancers, Swordmen
1x 6 Agema Cat,heavily armored, superior,drilled, Lancers, Swordsmen
1x 12 Argyspides HF, protected, superior, drilled, pikemen
1x 12 Phalanx HF ...

lol. Very entertaining.

Take some 'cheap' knights (18pt) and dismount them, and take voulgiers. Manuever around the end with some cav (not knights- could be a slight suprise if put down last) and peasants.

There really is not much variety with this match up. Basically the french need to dismount some knights to be decent ...

Yeesh I meant WAB, not WHFB... No such thing as a Wessex army in WHFB...lol.

I would like to know how people that have played whfb and are now using their 25mm's for FoG are actually basing their figures.

It seems most folks would not want to rebase at all and would then either use base sizes in a factor of 20mm (20mmx20mm base for infantry), so either 60mm frontage or 80mm ...

Comments welcome. I am most concerned with Knights in my cavalry fights. I know people prefer poor slings to fill the LF role, but I do not have those models... just archers and a few javelinmen. Are elephants or camels a good idea to try to help fight knights?

If you are new to historicals, you may want to check out 10mm figures as well. They have good detail, are quick to paint, and look great in massed units.

Well you could always just measure your move distance from the rear base. This would force the front base to move less than its base move rate, but they would stay in formation.

Quite the penalty for being in column

Why not just say each stand in the in-column-BG can not move farther than its base movement? This would allow stands that are farther back in the line to move out some, but not an extreme amount.

It sounds like this is a new charge from the non-pursing unit. I could be wrong though.

The new charge, I think, should cause an impact phase rout move, similar to "being charged while fragmented". They should have a "being charged while broken" section to cover this situation.

Wouldn't the contacted base be turned to conform to the charging unit, then when the rout occurs it would look exactly like the 2nd picture?
