Command points at start of game

One question from our game last night. At the beginning of the battle both sides receives their full allotment of command points ? Or do we have to play turn one without any command points. It only makes sense to have command points at the start, and we played it as such, but we could not find it in...

Milites without horses, is an option in a 1066 William invasion army. It is listed as such.

What if... You just sum up all hits and death roll modifiers on each side of the close combat, and take one death roll for each side, not so complicated. It just makes it more likely that a side with multiple small battle groups to take casualties. It will work to alleviate one of the weird results ...

On the topic of death rolls

Related to death rolls, but not entirely the same. When a Battle Group of 8 bases (4 front in two ranks) fights two Battle Groups of four bases each (in two times two formation) the larger Battle Group has a bigger chance of losing a base all else being equal (POA's, dice rolls, ...), just because i...

... but, there are no allied Italian generals in the list. The different city states only have different troop options and no associated commanders.

Thanks, So with a venetian army with Neapolitan and Papal alllies I'm almost there. The question of line-of-command still stands though, as I can not buy any allied italian generals.

Condotta Italia post 1440

I have a build for a Venetian Italian Condotta Force post 1440, but I am not totally convinced of it's legal status. Here it is at 800 points: Core list: IC 3 TCs Men-at-Arms 6 bs Men-at-Arms 6 bs Mounted Crossbows 6 bs Pikemen 12 bs Handgunners 4bs Handgunners 4bs Billmen 6bs Venetians: Stradiots 4...

Which BG would you test for first then ?

A1 for losing commander or

A2 for losing commander.

If either of them breaks, it influences the other BG's cohesion test with a -1 modifier, so the sequence matters.

So it is posible to take more than one cohesion test in a single phase - right ?

In the above, the unit A2 should take two cohesion tests ?

Just to be clear.

Cohesion tests

The situation: A1A1C1 less than 2 mu A2A2A2 B1B1B1 less than 2 mu B2B2B2 A1 is my unit, A2 is my other unit and C1 is my commander. B1 and B2 are enemy units. Now in the Melee Phase, my unit A2 loses and takes a cohesion test, but makes it. My unit A1 wins combat, but the commander is slain by a luc...
