New to FOG-R help me choose an army

I play FOG-AM but only have pre-1300 armies, so would like to do an army that could also be used for FOG-AM. There are already Ottomans and later Hungarins in the my club so would like to avoid them. Am thinking about later German with Landsknechts, if possible I would like a list that would have so...

Unless you are fighting an army made up mostly of armored or heavy armored mounted foes bow is always better. I have
never had any luck with crossbow against foot.

The real problem is very few people play a realistic roman army, with a few exceptions no roman army was made up entirely of superior legions. Average protected impact foot swordsmen have a chance against average armored swordsmen, almost none against superior armored skilled swordsmen. Add to the m...

I am the sad owner of an early german army. They have a much better chance in an open tournament than in period, even against the gauls who feared them in real life. Protected impact foot are not much good against anything but bow or protected lightspear foot. They do ok vs mounted armies as long as...

Thanks :D I will buy them as armoured without the PD to start. I have to try the HCh at least once because I have nice ones, will also buy the armoured Ospear unit. Jeff Hi Jeff, my advice is also to try Warring States (they have superior HCH instead of average), and you can have 14-15 BG's (good f...

Hi,Sergio
I dont think so because the only ally commanders I can see in the list are Chinese and they can only be used until 202 BC, and
the Han get tribal allies after 200 BC.

Western Han

Got EOD today :D Am trying to put together an early western han list. Would I be better off with my mixed foot units as six armoured at 57pt or eight protected at 60pts? I am in the states and will play a lot out of book. Also are the average heavy chariots worth a go? Very happy to have the book an...

Hi,
I have early germans and I think that open tournament is the best chance for them to win. In period even the gauls and the average
legionaries beat them up.
Thanks Jeff

HAN CHINESE

Hi,
I am about to rebase my Han, will the foot be 1/2 mf heavy weapon 1/2 crossbow? How many will I need?
Also how many if any LF bow, I assume the cav and LH will be close to what the army had in DBM.
Thanks Jeff :D
