As the title implies, I need to re-download the core game and the Legions Triumphant army pack. I bought both of these back in March of 2011. Recently I had a catastrophic failure of my PC and had to completely replace the system. Of course like a fool I did not have a hard copy back up of the game ...

Upon some reflection, I've decided that of all the FoG armies I've owned my Byzantines were the most effective. Like a fool I sold them a year ago (yes, yes, I know...) so I am in the process of painting up another Komnenian army.

Now in it's last incarnation I built the archers in the list as MF ...

With the release of FOG-R I'm in the process of building a 30 years War Swedish army. This is my first unit: the Yellow Brigade, obviously! :wink:

This also marks the first time I've painted any 15s since I changed my painting style completely about six months ago. These are figures from Old Glory ...

I must say I'm suprised (pleasantly mind you) at the number of superior stands you can field here. I'm asuming these are the Jaguar/Eagle/Chicken/whatever suit wearers, right?
Is there a distinct priest unit or are they gone like the Viking Beserkir?

Well, actually you CAN get seperately deployed retainers. You have to buy 24 required mixed stands. But you can also get yari armed retainers (protected offensive spear either average or poor), seperate deployed cav, and a single seperate bow unit (the only armoured MF bow unit I've seen yet ...

I run my Bushi in blocks of eight stands. The list I used is the late one...the one covering the Muramachi era.

Guarding the camp perhaps? (just pray that nothing more substantial than skirmishers decides on a looting spree!)
Bulking up the break point of the army by adding to the BG count? (the reason most people buy mobs for example)

Batesmotel, I thought about that as well when I saw the photos. It's actually hard to see the mounted figures in the middle of the mixed bases head on like that. They are old Tin Soldier miniatures so yes they are two dimentional poses and kind of flat as well. I'll ...
