My 15mm Samurai...a sample.

Post by Trench_Raider »

Tennôheika Banzai!

Ok, ok...
That iconic Japanese war cry is probably not contemporary to the Muramachi era,
but what the hell?

I just put the finishing touches on my 15mm Japanese army for Field of Glory and
had to show it off. "Empires of the Dragon" is not even out in the US yet, so
I'm probably the first kid on my block to have a brand new army painted with this book
in mind! ;-)

Anyway, I'm pretty happy with how they turned out looking. Here are three units
from the completed force of about 80 stands. One is a mixed infantry/cavalry
unit of the sort that makes up the majority of the army. Another is an archer
unit with mantlets. The last one is a crappy follower unit.

This new army will get it's first try-out on thursday so we'll see if they can fight!

Thoughts?

As a minor suggestion for photographing the figures, I think they would show to better effect if you shot them at 45 degrees or more from their front rather than head on. Your figures are mostly posed relatively 2 dimensional poses so will show best frmot he side rather than head on.

They look quite nice in the pictues and I'd like to see how they look from other directions.

Thanks for the kind words, guys.

Batesmotel, I thought about that as well when I saw the photos. It's actually hard to see the mounted figures in the middle of the mixed bases head on like that. They are old Tin Soldier miniatures so yes they are two dimentional poses and kind of flat as well. I'll pass that along to the guy who photographed them.....I'm can't take a picture to save my life!

Your figures too, me too I have some Two Dragoons figures but most of my Samurai are Essex and Eureka (I have also a second Army from Old Glory).
I haven't bought "Empires of Dragoon" ................. so I don't know if I have to rebase most of HF as MF

They are exquisite Sergio. Even the flocking is rich. The only thing I do not like is the green base edge on the one set, but that is nit picking. These dioramas (for that is what they are) are beautiful.

The green base edge matches the color of my envy though . . .
