Re: Using airpower in 44 and beyond
In Eastern GC, I found that strong focus on fighters does the trick, so leave your strats in the hangar, convert tacticals into fighter-bombers, buy up new fighters: as others have already mentioned, you should have a decent enough edge over Soviet planes for the lack of experience not to be crippli...

Re: Hexaboo: check out my YT guide videos
Hey everyone, I've just posted a video on whatever's known about Panzer Corps 2 so far! I doubt it'll offer anything completely new to the regulars here, but a little refresher might still be nice before the gameplay stream today. :) https://youtu.be/icrbHmd1ovg Back to Panzer Corps material soon (r...

Re: Hexaboo: check out my YT guide videos
Yeah, speed is tricky, a calmer and more relaxed approach sometimes feels a bit lazy: you want to keep things intense, but avoid unloading too much on the viewer too fast. Hopefully, finding that sweet spot is a question of experience! As for the upcoming stuff, I have other (nostalgic) gaming conte...

Re: Hexaboo: check out my YT guide videos
Whoah, thank you guys for checking my videos out, and thanks for your kind words! More are coming. :) Awesome video and I agree with most of your opinions except for the Tiger over Panther one in particular. Also ground defense should be 23 for the Tiger and would prefer comparing it to the Panther ...

Hexaboo: check out my YT guide videos
Fellow generals, I've been dabbling in making videos for some time, and Panzer Corps being an all-time favourite, I simply had to make something about the game! So, I've already got a few videos done, and I'd really love to hear what hardcore and dedicated hexagonal commanders here have to say about...

Holy cow! How long will the $9.99 pricetag for Unity of Command stay on? Until 14 January as for the rest of the games?

Re: How do you organise your core?
SP ATs are too weak, even with arty ability. I played AK through with two SP ATs, and in most missions they were whipping boys, mediocre against tanks and weak against infantry, making me wish that they were tanks instead. Like towed ATGs they are best at defense, but almost always you are on the of...

Re: How do you organise your core?
In my current AK campaign, I have (by Palestine): 5x Inf (all-grenadier, I like to keep it simple. If a specialised unit, like bridge engineers in the Suez map, or mountaineers in Caucasus, is necessary, I simply upgrade one or more of them at the beginning of the scenario) 9x Tank (8x medium (PzIVG...

Re: AK - Italian Tanks. Worth Keeping?
If you use Strat Bombers, I really suggest getting Italian ones. It's the only thing that I miss in my current German-only campaign (at Suez Canal already, and very happy). Ju 88 is junk compared to Piaggios. As to Italian SP Arty, I've never tried to use them seriously: the low attack scores and th...

Re: AK - Italian Tanks. Worth Keeping?
KeldorKatarn, apart from artillery (I only had two Italian arties) and tactical bombers (because I like fighter-bombers) my Italian unit core was the same as yours when I wrote the original post, and I completed that campaign successfully. Currently I play a German-only FM campaign (selling all core...

rezaf, yes these names are what I meant, and these counters do indeed look like they were generated on the go.

Re: Nato counters
I'd still try to squeeze in the unit name into the counter, this is what I personally lack in how it is with icons: you have to look at the panel to see the unit name. At the same time I don't think including unit stats (especially attack stats -- it's something you remember first in a campaign, isn...

Re: Nato counters
Doesn't writing the class name on the unit badge completely defeat the purpose of using tactical symbols? Just leave the name of that unit's model and use the space that is currently taken up by redundant information to put the unit's name.
Otherwise, nice.

Re: SP Scenario: Road Trip to Kohanovo
So, I've taken someone's private advice and have built the board from scratch, using the period Red Army maps for the area. It's much more detailed now — and much harder to traverse. ;) Here's everything: https://rapidshare.com/files/1587396383/Kohanovo_new.zip The units are the same on both sides, ...

Re: Losing Core Units
Voted 2, because I can't stand it, although there is one class that I sometimes let myself lose — Recon, since their combat value (and therefore the value of experience) is low and they're cheap. I may also throw out a cheap infantry if it's not too experienced, but still, it immediately becomes ano...

Re: SP Scenario: Road Trip to Kohanovo
Razz, it's 40% rain, so you have probably been unlucky to get mud in all but two turns. I think there have been at least 3-4 Dry turns in all my plays. The overall bad weather and the initial mud are there to reflect the real weather conditions during that combat, plus (for a number of reasons) I di...

SP Scenario: Road Trip to Kohanovo
Here's the product of my fiddling with the scenario editor over the last couple of days. It's my first one, so don't be gentle. https://rapidshare.com/files/1587396383/Kohanovo_new.zip The old version is here: https://rapidshare.com/files/2922727382/Kohanovo.zip (just the scenario files, the rest is...
