Yes, staged deployment is possible... ;)

In Eastern GC, I found that strong focus on fighters does the trick, so leave your strats in the hangar, convert tacticals into fighter-bombers, buy up new fighters: as others have already mentioned, you should have a decent enough edge over Soviet planes for the lack of experience not to be crippling. Buy up more artillery to do the things that strats used to do.

Weirdly and ironically, I found 1945 Eastern GC to be much easier in terms of air superiority and bomber use, you can often deploy strats without fearing that they'll blow a hole in your wallet, even in Berlin! 1943 and 1944, though, call for very conservative play.

I find the Starts do less and less as 44 rolls on. Just finished Warsaw, and they weren't that good. Even against low level Polish infantry. I think you're right. Rudel was still a boss though.
The US forces were annoying, and took some time to get used to where they were coming from. Glad I took along 4 fighters and 2 AAA. Otherwise they would have caused way more havoc.

The only place where my airpower seems to struggle is in Afrika Korps because I play with only purchased Italian units, so my airforce consists of a Beefed out Stormo Fighter. (The first Italian Fighter they give you which has 2 heroes that equal +5 Attack I think. He is a beast, so far.)

1 SE Bf-109k
1 Spitfire.

So limited air power, which using the Italian version of the 88 along with the super mobil German AA you start out with help to rule the skies, but a far cray from the air dominance I had in the GC West or East.

You could just buy more Italian fighters. Italian fighters are actually pretty good. What really blows about Italy is they had no heavy tanks and their medium tanks come out late.

What proline said. Italian fighters are usually pretty good against all but the top tier enemy planes. Throw in some AA and you should be quite good.

I may consider this for the winning Path, but on the losing path I only have 3 more scenarios and very limited prestige, 3 will have to do for that path
