The Pope, Piety and Excommunication.
Has something changed recently in terms of how Papal relations, Piety and Excommunication is handled on the back end or in mechanics? I ask, because I am currently playing a 3 player MP game where the three players are: France, Castilla and Poland. Three countries that I have never had to struggle w...

Inappropriate Aqueducts.
As I'm sure you are aware, the Romans never conquered Ireland or Scotland, let alone built aqueducts there. Which raises the question of how I can restore a Roman aqueduct in Ireland or Scotland. Do I buy the Pont du Gard on the cheap and wedge it into some Irish valley? I kinda feel like Henry Ford...

Royal Marriages, heirs, and what happens if there isn't one?
Is the Royal Marriage Regional Decision the only way to get your heirs married? I am in the fairly precarious position (for medieval times anyway), of my rulers only heirs being female, and the queen being beyond childbearing age (she's 49). So the game reports I have no valid heir, and 0% chance of...

War score confusion - Possible Bug.
I'm a little confused about war support and wondering if it is working correctly. I'm playing as England and launched a crusade at Jerusalem with the regional decision, backed up by other regional decisions sending units in support. This naturally put me at war with the Fatimid Caliphate. They sent ...

Re: Any guides or advice on escaping starting decadence trap as Seleucids?
Perhaps I should have clarified, I did not do the different things I mentioned all in the same game. I've tried several different games with different approaches, always at "difficult" difficulty. I have tried exactly what you suggest regarding focussing on culture. Very undeveloped region...

Any guides or advice on escaping starting decadence trap as Seleucids?
First a rant, to get off my chest. I hate calling it decadence, can it be named something more accurate in Kingdoms? It doesn't function like decadence, and it doesn't punish decadence, in fact you can end up pretty decadent trying to fight it, with most of your population lazing around producing cu...

Re: New confusion with army retreat mechanics.
Yeah, I'm familiar with that mechanic, but in these situations I outnumbered the enemy, which is what led to my confusion. I'm tying to see if there is a mechanic I'm missing, or should I be submitting a bug report. If I did submit a bug report, I'm not expecting much would be done at this stage in ...

Re: New confusion with army retreat mechanics.
Thanks for clarifying the Silver Shield point. I should pay more attention to my enemies abilities. The game listed them as victories for me, I got the pursue phase and inflicted additional casualties there. Had another weird issue with another MP game. Playing as Carthage, Mauretania invaded and oc...

Logging into FoG:E multiplayer, game reports "Login isn't activated"
Hello, I'm playing a multiplayer game in FoG:E and it has been working fine apart from the occasional hiccup when your servers go down. Today I logged on and it initially worked fine, I completed a turn and it said it had successfully uploaded that turn to the server. I then immediately went to play...

New confusion with army retreat mechanics.
I thought I understood the mechanics around when and why an army will retreat and where they will go. But a recent experience suggests I don't. So if someone could clarify this for me, I'd be grateful. I, Macedonia am at war with the Antigonids and their client, the Getae, both AI controlled. The sc...

Controlling client states.
Playing a MP game and I (Syracuse) am allied with my friend (Sparta). Thracia is a client state of Sparta, my ally, and it regularly raids my territory. I can't engage in diplomacy with them as they are a client state, and my friend playing Sparta tells me he has no options to control who they raid....

General/Admiral dying in combat.
I was under the impression that the mechanics for when and how a general or admiral on the winning side could get killed in combat went something like this. Winning General/Admiral can only be killed in a large battle, but even in this case the odds of it happening are much lower than the odds of th...

What am I missing about Naval Support regional order?
Playing as Macedon on the Persia 550BCE campaign. I'm at war with Persia, who have launched an invasion. So far so normal. But a few things have happened that I've not understood so I'm hoping someone can explain the interactions of these mechanics. 1. My navy in the sea directly adjacent to the reg...

Thanks for the response. Quite a few hours of games later and I've not seen the issue again, so looks like a one off.

Re: Disappearing experience bug
Just checked this, they lost stars/levels, but their number of experience points remains the same. So the Spartan Hoplites, for example now have three units listed as: level 2 with 75 exp, one unit: level 2 with 74 exp, and one unit: level 2 with 47 exp. It is a similar situation for the other units...

Thanks, but I had not engaged in diplomacy with Athens for at least 10 or more turns, so I could not have done that.

Re: Disappearing experience bug
That was the only non-bugged explanation I could think of, but it doesn't make sense to me. As I said, the units were recruited at various different points, they had earned different amounts of experience. It doesn't make sense for them all to lose their experience at the same time. If this was an i...
