Limbering artillery attachments.
This is something I'm a bit unclear on, how do you handle limbering and unlimbering artillery that's attached to a non artillery unit, or do you even need to? Does it just move as though it were the same base type as the unit it's attached to?

Measurement tools
So I've been trying to come up with something helpful for measuring in games since I don't like tape measures as they can be difficult to get into position and often allow for "creative" measuring in games. I've tried making my own using dowel rods, but my measurements are always a bit off...

Basing 10mm figures
So I think I've settled on 10mm for the "grand scale" effect; I ordered a few batches of miniatures from Old Glory (the 40% off on their army deal is fantastic). But I have a basing question for folks out there. For those of you who play at this scale, how are you basing your figures? The ...

French revolution miniatures
Does anyone know any good miniature likes for 10 or 15 mm french revolution era miniatures? Something in the states would be best, but any good miniature like would be fine.
Also, has anyone bought/painted mini's from the "Battle Honors" line? How are they looks and painting wise?

Tourney Standard Points
So I was trying to figure out what we were going to use for standard point totals for tournaments of FoG: N here in Arizona, and I thought it would be similar to our standard FoG: AM and FoG: R totals which are 800 points a player for singles and 600 points a player for doubles. But having looked th...

Re: when do they get removed
Also, unless I misread a rule, the infantry cant charge the hussars anyway because they're cavalry.

Re: Triumph of Nations Supplement
Mine showed up today. There are a metric ton of lists in the book, so hopefully local tourneys aren't as confusing as I predict they will be ("no no... this is a 1809 infantry corp... not an 1812") Overall though I like it, though I do miss the "starter armies" presented in the o...

Late/Early Tercios, kiels, and swedish brigades
This may be obvious and I just missed it, but it is causing me a bit of confusion. Some lists list these formations in their army lists, so are they the only units that may be in these formations? And, if so, must they use these formations or can they be deployed in a generic pike and shot formation...

Questions from a newbie
Unfortunately I am the guy in my area trying to get people into historicals, so I lack more experienced players in my area to pick the brain of. As such I thought I'd ask on the forums here instead. So here's the big question: Aside from a few units to shore up the flank and a little artillery, I ca...

Re: Attachments, skirmish formation, and reformed units
1. They do replace a base. When a unit loses its attachment and if it ralllies after being broken it is also spent so loses that replacement stand anyway except a skirmisher attachment - see page 71. 2. When a unit goes into open order than you replace the close order bases with open order bases . ...

Attachments, skirmish formation, and reformed units
So after reading the rules a couple questions came up. 1. Attachments: Do attachments replace a base, or do they hang off one side? I ask since it says when you lose them they are replaced with a regular base of the unit type, which I think would look a little odd if they are a hanging base like tha...

Took the plunge today and bought the book, Kinda surprised
Mostly surprised by just how different the rules are from the other FoGs. I powered through the book this afternoon, I like some of the changes, curious to see them in action. Namely the automatic cohesion losses, that is very new. I kinda like it though, as nothing is more frustrating than doing ev...

Re: point system quality
Thanks. I know no point systems are ever "perfect" I just wanted to make sure it was given attention. One more question while I'm at it: how is the system with smaller models? I know the older field of glory systems are written with 25mm and 15mm in mind. The modest amount of napoleonics I...

point system quality
I was wonder how well balanced the point system is in regards to how much attention it was given? I like the look of armies from this era but I'm not fond of recreating historical battle. I've looked at other systems (e.g. Column, line, square and others) and found they heavily favor historical batt...
