Re: Formigny1450 completed now

I had my first game of this for a couple of years using this scenario in SP. I played as the English and managed to win 60-38 on Baron level (one of the easier levels, I believe). I thought the scenario was fantastic. I will have a game as the French next time. What ultimately saved me was the AI h...

Battle of Cravant: https://youtu.be/SgPuE2RSHX4?si=_jauo3AV79_Gn6gv 23:14
Weirdly the defenders sent a small contingent to defend the birdge which’ll be easily dispersed by offenders.

Re: Dismount and Remount Options

It’s ok to remain mounted if your maa has a clear path to fall back. Repeating charge and fall back to vanquish infantry, not a disvantage. Another problem is once dismounted your maa has only 120 men—a light infantry scale that will be a peril in attrition. Seriously,is there any object can be used ...

Re: Dismount and Remount Options

Yeah, it can lead to some unrealistic, cheesy situations. I can remember a WRG 7th ed game, where dismounting and remounting were allowed, and two opponents repeatedly dismounting/remounting due to the tactical edge they'd gain if they could catch the other in the wrong troop class. Karvon Likewise...

Re: Dismount and Remount Options

I guess the problem is that you can’t remount wherever you want. For example, once dismounted a unit, its horses are left behind on that tile, where you have to go back through battle lines to get remount when latterly needed.
Technically no problem, practically chicken-rib gaming experience.

No, but you can script which turn they should arrive on - with or without any random element.
Thanks,Richard

Re: River-Cross dilemma, will players get bored with such scenes

Historically the usual tactic would be a flank march, by the attacking side. Battle of Ferrybridge? However according to the actual scale of their manoveur,it has to breach the maximum size of the map editor. But you can also add scripted flank marchers. https://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.p...

I'm thingking about Battle of Cravant,it’ll inevitably be drowsy if not built on hypothesis.

River-Cross dilemma, will players get bored with such scenes

Two armies on each bank on defensive position, waiting the other to pass the only bridge.Even if the offenders took the bridge, they will be welcomed by volleys of arrows and bolts. The situation will most likely to be two armies digging in on the river bank to shoot each other. Any other tactic can b...

Re: To command AI flank a wagonburg,90 degree turn possible?

But whatever you do, it will be difficult to get the group to move diagonally, so you would probably need to deploy them in a column for the initial move past the wagonburg flank. I tried this way yesterday,to some extend,it works(left column before XfrontMin,right beyond XfrontMax). That works onl...

To command AI flank a wagonburg,90 degree turn possible?

Two armies with same width face to face. Try to command AI attackers flank the wagonburg via MoveTeamCoord(),the destination coord was set to a tile adjacent to the most left/right enemy unit.I’ve tried aggression values of 4、8、16. All of the above can’t avoid AI confronting player before reaching t...

It seems most of MP players prefer PotLuck map

Wondering around in Mp lobby. It seems most of the players would rather go PotLuck than a particular scenario recently. A few will go to Varna, but not very often :)

Re: There are two kinds of map for Battle of Baugé,which one is historical accurate?

Neither is accurate and both are. The river delayed the English but did not affect the subsequent battle directly so the relevance is questionable. Where the settlements were in relation to the river are even less relevant. From the point of view of a player, the one on the north bank has a better v...

Currently Baugé and the old Baugé are the northern bank of Couasnon.
Did the river change its course?
