It seems most of MP players prefer PotLuck map

Wondering around in Mp lobby. It seems most of the players would rather go PotLuck than a particular scenario recently. A few will go to Varna,but not very often

Yes, seems fairest especially when a number of army lists would prefer certain maps.

I do like the scenario battles as well with the historical background.

Not really fair if you think about it. Certain lists are way more universal than others. Altho Map Restarts and Dice Rerolls fixed all these drawish or vwry determenistic for particular list type of scenarious. I think Pot Luck was changed over the year to be more considerate. Before one army had a higher chance of receiving hometurf terrain.

You also need to keep in mind that potluck is not truly 100% random; the basic field is set based on the priority of the home terrain of the armies involved. For example, tropical is first and steppe is last irc, so if you fight Indians vs Skythians you will have a randomize field, but it will always be tropical.

You will never get Romans fighting Greeks on the steppe, as it's not home terrain for either side.

I don't remember the precise order of the terrains, and couldn't find the info when I did a search of the forums.
