Most welcome mate, I may be still bothered, but I can't be assed any longer. Most would say "It's bored me to tears" but in my case it ended up "frustrating me to tears". As a plain talking working class Londoner, I just cannot be bothered any longer, it stressed me out, so the s...

Hi Ian, Sorry, I've just said goodbye to a French mate, we have spent 7 days drinking in Hastings, Robertstbridge (for the Pagan/ Religious/ festival/bonfire thingie a few of the Sussex villages and towns do) and finally back to London. I feel very rough, but think I'll keep the game: you have repli...

The American War of Independence

About 20 years ago I mentioned my concept for a realistic War of Independence on an old UK forum for a British made game about Pirates (Bristol company: Hot Flowers I think?) At the start of the war about 30% of the 13 colonies supported the idea of freedom from the Crown. By the end it was about 40...

Hi Ian, I'm a tad lost here. You say "We dont have any retail deals still in effect so any boxes being sold via Amazon must be some sort of overstock that made it in to the channel years ago." The game version you sold me was on the "Sold Out" label. This is a budget company publ...

I agree with VPaulus on this. Anyway, my general opinion (sorry :)) Capitalism makes/needs/wants you to buy the same product every few years. A vinyl LP will last for 20 or much more years if looked after, and that is less sales. So as a company that isn't good. The result is CD's that last for 10 y...

I recently brought this product from you. What you get is a "Sold out" version of the game: ie the cheapo version of the game, without manual. You still display the original version of the game. The "Sold Out" version costs £4.12 to be delivered to your door on Amazon. I've just ...

The game arrived today: a very rapid delivery: thank you. One thing though: I see the game has now switched to being sold on the budget label "Sold out Software", had the correct image been displayed in the shop I would have looked elsewhere. I paid £24 for the game including a £4 postage ...

Yep, It is based on a licence, albeit a license you only discover the contents of once you have purchased the boxed retail version, and then opened it, and (usually) can read only when you go to install it. A little late! Some companies are more open than others: Vivendi in the games Empire Earth II...

Thanks for the replies. I shot myself in the foot there: I should have said my old game disk wasn't working....But I prefer honesty :) A bit of a "doh!" moment by me anyway: even buying a replacement disk wouldn't work as the code wouldn't match that on the manual. (I was very tired and re...

Thanks for the reply. Very interesting: I wish the EU would look at Canadian law and adopt it..... Order of War had nothing on the box to indicate that it required Steam, nor during the installation, only at the point I went to play the game did a Steam activation code pop up. Steam closing down sec...

The error I get is this: Component: Main App File Group: main File: E\data\data2.cab Error: Data arror (cyclic redundancy check) Does anyone know what it means? I see I posted in the wrong forum, looking before I just didn't the support section, possibly as my eyesight is fading faster than daylight...

Steam

Steam: What can I say: I purchased two boxed retail games (Order of War and Cities in Motion). At no point did I realise that these games could never be sold on as second-hand games like a pot, kettle or fridge. When installing the games you have no idea Steam is a third-party agent, upon launching ...

Spartan

Hi all, This is really a 'what to do' request to the company: I brought 'Spartan' on ebay second-hand but it fails to install. I get an error message when a master file fails to load onto my PC and the install fails to load. Is it possible to buy a replacement CD if I send in the original or do I ha...
