Re: Bolt Action - Dev Diary #3: Order Die, Unit Activations & Snap to Action
Hi
I have played Bolt Action since the 1st ed.
One problem I've found is that every unit on both sides gets to activate each turn, allowing you to predictably leave your best asset safe until all enemy activations have happened before moving it out to attack, then activating it first next turn to ...

Re the Norman invasion - I've seen it fire in a couple of games, but never seen them take a region.

Re: Claim diplomacy.
Yeah similar experience here too. As north Wales I offered England 3 for 1 and it was still a no-no (relations were slightly positive). They later got to enter peace negotiations with me:

I'm seeing an increase in generals dying across all battles. Is there a way of viewing this in the save file?- Winning a small battle vs. winning a large one was actually more dangerous for generals (fixed).

Re: MAP CHANGES thread - Suggest here
I'll offer up making the port/harbour icons smaller. There's enough competition for real estate on the map with unit flags, cities and event icons and at their current size give a cluttered effect (Britain and Greece for example are a smorgasbord of them). They're almost as big as clickable news ...

Re: Gripes I have had with the game so far
(Like with Sedition from Nobles, the war counter, loyalty in nobles) that I felt it wasn't communicated well enough in either the game or the Manual (which I heavily referred to though not read cover to cover).
Yeah sedition isn't mentioned at all in the manual. There are a few things I've come ...

Re: Loss of capital region to nation without war or passage rights
Re passage rights - there's a crusade going on which we're all in on which explains why they're in my territory without the usual agreements. Which explains that part.
That then leads onto the issue of Scotland and Norway having passage right in my regions due to the crusade and being at war with ...

Re: Loss of capital region to nation without war or passage rights
Upon going back a few turns and playing through again, this is avoided.
However the big issue here is that Scotland and Norway have units in my regions when they have no right to be there (we're not allies, there's no passage rights) - and if they both end up in the same region, then that region is ...

Re: Quality of exported battles
Or to phrase it another way: is there (or will there be) an option to respect the frontage system in regards to export? For example in a region/terrain with a frontage of 6, say only 6 frontline units and 6 skirmishers from each side are exported to the FoG battle.

Quality of exported battles
I haven't got Kingdoms yet but played a bunch of Empires. One feature that didn't cut it for me in Empires was exporting battles to FoG. I love Empires, I love FoG...but together not so much.
My main gripe on that is FoG is a battle simulator built for roughly equal (in terms of quality and ...

Re: Missing hill in tournament game
Thanks for the report. We will look into it.
We had this problem before due to turn files failing to transfer correctly owing to interference by Google Drive. The height data is near the end of the file, and was previously sometimes affected by Google Drive truncating the file download.
We ...

In one battle, the hill is present and correct:

Reconquista tournament scoring issue
Opponent in round one didn't post a turn in either battle until the 13th. We played a handful of turns over the next week and both games timed out. We both got awarded the bye score for one game each - 75 pts apiece. Overall inbox time for both games was roughly ten days for my opponent, and four ...

Re: How to set up a 4k screen resolution in the game?
If your GPU is Nvidia, you can effectively have 4k on a 1080p display via the DSR feature in the Nvidia control panel (pretty sure AMD do it to but can't recall the name). It'll take a good GPU to pull it off smoothly and it's not quite the same as the real thing. This will then give you the option ...

A modification, or replacement, of the command range overlay to include the lesser range of the cohesion test +1 modifier (command range / 4) when the unit containing a general is in close combat.
