I thought the AI was the same as on General. I read here that the only difference is in the rate at which the player gains prestige. Maybe I remember wrong?

Sheesh, this is one of the most polished games I've played all year. There are a few minor things, but by the industry standard, this is far better than the norm. I've encountered no real bugs; I just have a few features on my would-be-nice list.

How does one "test" a released game, by the way?

Heh, I got it to work today. Quite cool to play Panzer Corps on an iPad. Not sure how often I'll use it, as I still prefer my larger PC monitor. But it's nice to have the option.

To unlock the bonus levels, you have to win the USA battles on Field Marshall with Decisive Victories, right? I assume it's not enough just to get through the campaign or to finish the USA with marginal wins?

Thanks for the replies. I do routinely check for suppression after I hit the enemy with arty or aicraft fire; I just don't see much suppression with my early-war strategic bombers. I just upgraded, though, so maybe it will improve.

So you can keep bombing all you want, its gonna make little or no differense.

I keep reading that strategic bombers are great for destroying fuel and ammo, but the game doesn't tell me when I succeed in doing this. I bomb a city, and if I'm lucky, I'll "neutralize" it, which is great. Otherwise, nothing much seems to happen. Does the game give us feedback on when we decrease ...

Field Marshal ("FM") is the highest difficulty level (until you unlock Manstein, etc.). If you want the second-highest, go with General, the one I chose. Both General and FM use the highest-level AI; the difference is that you don't earn as much Prestige on FM.

I threw caution to the wind and settled on "General" for my first campaign, after I finished the tutorial missions. Like you, I played PG back in the day, and like you, I'm not as big a gamer as I was back then.

So there's no way to view the replay of any turn more than once? I sometimes miss stuff that happens the first time I watch a replay. E.g., a unit retreats into the fog of war before I can internalize where it was retreating from.

Anyway, here's one vote for adding the ability to view the replay ...

I'm loving the game, but I have a question. Is unit facing purely cosmetic, or does it have any effect on gameplay? Why do units sometimes face left, and sometimes right?
