Final Multi-player battle results
This may have been asked but I just finished a multiplayer battle with my foe taking the final move. Shows has game finished now but I can't see the final result and not sure who is the winner. Was able to do this with BA and FoG. Is it me? Am I going mad? Is it a conspiracy against me? Am I paranoid? Or is it the game itself?

That works the ist time but after that there is no going back, all the options are greyed out.Kerensky wrote:Current game tab -> Results option -> hit play.
This allows you to review the opponent's final turn, as well as the ending victory message.
I have 3 completed Mp games and i have no idea if they were draws losses or wins... Even when i viewed the last turn in my inbox no v condions ever popped up to tell me what happened.
So you are saying it better if players were allowed to review the final replay multiple times? Perhaps...
I think it would be better, especially once we start tracking wins/losses, to simply have Player [NAME] Won somewhere in the results window.
For example, it will flat out say:
Player [A] won decisive victory.
Player lost.
or
Player surrendered.
Player [A] won decisive victory.
or
Player [A] win minor victory.
Player lost.
You know?

Any ways , what you suggest would be ok for most scenarios but others have quite complex V conditons . For example , Hunters in the Atalntic, Germany needs to sink 9 convoys and have Bismark Tirpitz alive at game end (which is a whopping 30 turns) The game ended on turn 14, the replay showed Bismark repeat history , but Tirpitz was chilling out in a fjord, nice and safe. I have no idea how many convoys I sunk, and was surprised when the game ended. As that guy said in the beginnning of Dirty Harry " I gots to know!"
Not sure if all that could be squeezed into the small info bar.
Cheers!

I would expect a surrender to count as a major defeat (if available). Since, you'd be an idiot to lose to a major defeat when you could simply just resignate on the last turn when you saw it coming, and hence only get hit with a minor defeat.

Experience Ratio = (def exp level + 2)/(att exp level + 2)
Entrenchment Ratio = (def entr rate + 1) /(att entr rate + 1)

It could be as simple as that but the complex victory conditions allowed in PzC complicate things a bit. In PG2 it was all turn based 10 = BV, 12 = V, 14 = TV - easy. In my Kharkov scenario, however, victory is not calculated until the very last turn but if the outcome is clear well before the last turn it is best for both players that the obvious loser surrenders. At the moment, it's no big deal, but a future ladder could make it one.Obsolete wrote:I would expect a surrender to count as a major defeat (if available). In my opinion it would be nice to see the final map - but I can understand you not wanting all those maps in server storage.
But at the very least you need to have something there to know if you won or lost. And the way you word it here would be very good.

PC needs a change to the scoring mechanism to keep multiplayer alive.
Currently it is dull....watch his move, play the turn, hit some units, press end turn.......rinse and repeat. No sense of how well you are doing, units eliminated until you only have a couple fighting, each turn you think - shall I just stop this? Probably why only 1 out of the 5 games I have started has finished - even duller if you are losing........Not to mention that it is almost impossible to win against a decent human opponent - taking ALL objectives vs an equal army?
It does not have to be that way!
All it needs is a counter that ticks up when you destroy enemy units and capture objectives. you can see your progress in the turn. And maybe victory is triggered at a certain points total, that is well below the total victory required in single player.
Then multiplayer will be fun again!

That's OK for the simple victory conditions - what about the complex ones that PzC allows? They need to be available when playing a turn, not just at the beginning of a turn. But I think the OP's concern is that there is no feedback on how well we are going. A simple progress report that pops up when the End Turn button is pressed (before the message screen) might help; a screen like the one at the start of the turn but with:
Primary Victory Hexes captured: 8/10
Flags captured: 12
This turn:
Kills: AT 6; TNK 3; INF 4 etc etc
Lost: AT 2; TNK 1; INF 2 etc etc
Overall:
Kills: AT 6; TNK 3; INF 4 etc etc
Lost: AT 2; TNK 1; INF 2 etc etc
This still doesn't cover the complex victory conditions but it's a start.

So there's no way to view the replay of any turn more than once? I sometimes miss stuff that happens the first time I watch a replay. E.g., a unit retreats into the fog of war before I can internalize where it was retreating from.
Anyway, here's one vote for adding the ability to view the replay more than once. If server space is a concern, maybe add a button saying "done watching replay?" Or automatically delete the replay 24 hours after it's viewed the first time?
