Although the Sacred Band is listed as suffering no penalty in difficult terrain, the auto-generals don't seem to realize this, and never draw them up in the front ranks during battles in mountains, from what I've seen.

Playing as Macedonia. Long ago pushed the Thracians up into Moesia. They've just been sitting there, steaming, while I deal with other things. Now the Thracians have rebelled in Thracia, and put me at war with the already-existing Thracians in Moesia.

Is this a bug or a feature?

It happens automatically, and there's a slight fee for raising the units, which is also automatically deducted.

When I went back to the save file, I clicked 'exit' on my big army, and when it played out, the invading army fought my big army, not the city defenders.

okay... well they definitely just fought 8 city militia, when I had a bunch of heavy inf etc in the region...

update: could have been because my army was somehow 'garrisoned' even though there are no walls...?

One for the wishlist--it's neat to see regional roads appear on the map after upgrading from public works; it would be very satisfying if paved roads were distinguished somehow, maybe with a lighter color like the icon on the build screen?

Dangit. I requisitioned some ships to jumpstart my navy, and lo and behold they show up in this stupid little lake... Guess I should have disassembled the anchorage in Aquincum after I conquered it...
