Re: FoG II Terrain For Medieval Plus Mod (Updated to Reconquista)

Great mod, Mord and all who contributed.

Thanks for making it, and updating the DLC as well.

Re: Random Scenario Nation Choices

This is a must-be-fixed for me- allow the player to choose the sides.

"Random" dies not apply to the forces, either- as the enemy side is always the same as yours.

I'm totally baffled by this, as a both concept and as a reality.

Napoleonic for me. The engine is perfect for the era.

Re: Map Scroll ability

Pip, I'd much prefer the ability to just scroll out a bit more. If you want to add the other method as well- that's cool, too!

Re: Map Scroll ability

Yes- having to edit the Preferences file is not an ideal solution. Another 25% back would be very helpful, since there are some large maps.

Re: Stalingrad?

Yes, it's great to get the largest battles covered- but I would really like to see Italy, Romania (Axis and Allied) and Hungary covered in an add-on.

Re: Kharkov Campaign

Just rechecked- I probably missed getting the last unit out. I did this time, and it worked. The campaign progresses!

The T-60's still seem unnecessary, though.

Re: Kharkov Campaign

I just had a loss for no apparent reason given the victory conditions on this one. I also had T-60's pop up with 3-4 turns to go, entering on the South Road objective. At no point did the Soviet AI take any of the VL, but I still was "overrun", and could not proceed to the next mission. I'...

Re: Kharkov Campaign

Yes- there are two T-70's IIRC that appear with about 4 turns left. I'm not sure where they come from. I have uninterrupted line of sight to both bridges (and don't lose them as objectives), so they shouldn't have come from the north side of the map(unless there is a hidden ford somewhere).

Stalingrad?

I don't see the battle represented yet in the campaigns yet- will it be in a later build, or in an add-on?

I do like that the campaigns dwell on other battles, but it seems a large omission.

Re: Kharkov Campaign

That said- this campaign is really one of the best in terms of the maps I've seen. I also appreciate the fact that the campaign is rooted in an actual engagement (even though it's fictionalized somewhat in the missions). Rather than dissuade you from the carryover system- I prefer it! I'm just pushi...

Re: Kharkov Campaign

Pip, thanks for the reply. BA straddles the line in the best possible way between "game" and "wargame" for me. I never had the time to accumulate a table-top army, so BA does the trick on my computer. I am far more of a "wargamer", and hope for things to tend towards th...

Re: Kharkov Campaign

OK, it's overall better in the new version- but for one thing..... SPOILER.... The Soviet attack on the South Road objective is impossible given the briefing and if the player holds the two bridges. The player holds the bridge objectives, yet there are still Soviet forces that materialize. This give...

Re: Pike and Shot announced

EDIT: something i dont remember ask, casualties... are like in FOG a % (in FOG number of soldiers are cosmetic) or here we can see them more based in soldiers??? thanks. Entirely based on soldiers, not at all cosmetic. Is there a visual representation of losses to the on-map units? Like removing a ...

Kharkov Campaign

I've been playing the latest beta a bit, and it's looking quite good. The campaigns look very interesting so far. I like the linked campaigns, so I started the Kharkov one. Will there be there be a similar one for the Soviet side? The first mission in the Kharkov campaign is very tough. There are a ...

Central European Terrain?

Will terrain (buildings, primarily) be available in the final version? It would be good to have some more German or Hungarian style structures for the very late war maps. A Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag would also be great.

Re: Wall Types

That's a good fix for the interim, but the release shouldn't have the tall stone walls in Russian rural terrain. "Urban" terrain is a proper locale for these, but used in a reasonable amount (ie. no "maze" maps!). Wood fencing would be ideal for the rural areas. I'm not sure what...

Wall Types

The skirmish mode uses lots of what appear to be tall stone walls. This is very out of place for the rural Soviet maps, which should have low wooden fencing primarily. This is my one complaint thus far with the random maps, which are generally pretty good. I can certainly see a use for the stone tal...
