what's next after this?
What's next? More modules? What eras/armies? Will there be a Napoleonic version?

Incidentally, Pike & Musket v1.01 is awesome.

Go backwards in time not forwards. We've got too many civl war and napoleonic games as it is and not enough old history.

Exactly! Ancient, Medieval ... Would love to see that!Igorputski wrote:Go backwards in time not forwards. We've got too many civl war and napoleonic games as it is and not enough old history.

Re: what's next after this?
Medieval please, 100 years war. Longbows, crossbows, lanced knights, black princ, Agincourt, Cresy, would be great. Or hussite wars, war wagoons, skirmishers with slingshots, peasants with flails and "sudlice" (special czech type of halberd) wow, that would be awesome

Reconquista anyone?
...
Or ... Crusades ...?
(To be honest, I'd love to turn the whole world into a turn-based game. Undo button included.)

Re: what's next after this?
I completely agree. The ancient/medieval periods need to be done like Pike & Shot.
Even though I much prefer the ancient/medieval period, I like Pike & Shot better than Field of Glory Digital.

I'd like to see Japan 1560-1600 personally. I think the way this game does mixed units would allow for the era to be well-simulated.

I have to agree with that. Samurai warfare would not be a big stretch for the system, at all -- and has not been released for FoG Digital.
Excellent recommendation.

I think this tile system is great and would love to see it applied to Napoleonics, a favorite period.
Here's what I think really should be the focus:
1) more "story hooks" in the ancient and medieval period. A key reason why I prefer Napoleonics is that I know the history and the colorful characters. I want to like all the other eras, but I need help learning the stories and the chrome from these eras.
2) More chrome. this brings back great memories of miniatures trays from my youth. I would love to be able to create specialized units, give them names, etc.--lavish all the love on them that I wanted to lavish on my six 25mm Prussian Uhlans but could not (because, unfortunately, I was a terrible painter!)

A great idea, I reckon it would model the period really well and would prove to be popular.flatsix518 wrote:I have to agree with that. Samurai warfare would not be a big stretch for the system, at all -- and has not been released for FoG Digital.

Re: what's next after this?
I'd be thrilled with an Ancients module, and with one covering the War of the Spanish Succession. Also, I've seen something somewhere about one dealing with the Polish Deluge, which would be awesome. Not to mention the Great Northern War!

Napoleonic for me. The engine is perfect for the era.

What I really miss so far are tactical wargames covering following eras ( except of Fields of Glory and HPS Renaissance for some examples):
Japanese Civil War
Reconquista
Crusades ( Holy Land and Eastern Europe)
Mongol Invasion of Europe and China as well
Ancient Naval Battles....!!!!
Rise of Ottoman Empire
Cheers, Klaus
