Re: Field of Glory goes 2.0 !
I think Slitherine may be jumping the gun a bit... Digital is indeed the future, but does this hobby REALLY need several updates a year with respect to rules and army books? I would argue that changing the rules that frequently may be deleterious and potentially confusing. FoG 2.0 needs to be printa...

Re: Cold Wars FoG event
Hello all: .... The plan, at present, is for a 15mm, 650 point, open tournament. Any army from a then-published army list book will be allowed. If there is sufficient interest (expressed soon!) I will also run a 25mm event. We will most likely be scheduled for the Friday, which might create time co...

Formation question....
Thanks for the answers!
This is what we thought, but then the whole rectangular thing kept cropping up.
Cool!

Formation question....
Howdy! Not too clear (to me at least) at the moment... Generally, formations must be rectangular. So let's say we have a unit of 6 stands; XXX XXX During the move phase, it expands by 2 stands; X XXXXX What happens to the stand in the last rank? Does it "conform" to the front row during th...

FOG Points
Well I don't doubt what you are saying. I am just relaying impressions that people seemed to agree upon and brought that expereience from 3 distinct geographic regions. But as I said, it also seemed to us that it impacted us due to inexperience. Howdy! Whilst things certianly speed up when the rule...

Historicon
Howdy! Are any FoG playtesters going to Historicon this week (In glorious Lancaster, PA, USA)? I'll try to at the very least say Hi to the Osprey demo team (Sat is the one bad day for me, as I will be flogging Molniya Miniatures figs and doing tourney trash). I am free on Thurs and Friday if anyone ...

Evading question...
Howdy! Just finished our 5th and 6th game (5th was Pechenegs versus Byzantines and 6th was Persians versus Greeks). Both games were in 25mm and were 650 points a side. Nothing sniggly came up with the rules, per se. The Pecheneg player was a little underwhelmed with the list (LH and Cav...and that's...

[quote="hammy No problem there. I think the active player should have any advantage there may be. Hammy[/quote] Howdy, Element loss is interesting facet of combat; In a Parthian vs. Carthaginian game last week, I had a unit of L/H engaged (not by choice) to some Gallic Cav in front of one of my...

If you take part in any official beta-test tournament you can select 3 other army lists of your choice to see.
Although tempting, I can't fly to the UK for the beta-touneys.

Osprey is doing a FoG demo at Historicon here in the US, which is very cool - should drum up interest!

Game Three - So far, so GREAT
Howdy, Just had our third game this weekend. Now that I was more versed in FoG, I revisited the armies of our first game - 25mm Macedonians versus Indians. The Indians kicked butt! Part of the problem was *extremely* bad luck for Alexander's side - nothing but "ones" and "twos".....

Howdy!
Does anyone know if playtesters can get more army lists to try out?
Thanks,
Ken

re: Visibility
Howdy, I think that a 4 MU deep "village" is more of a handful of farmsteads or a little clump of houses - it certainly wouldn't block line of sight. Would it affect archery? Possibly, depending on line-of-sight, ambient cover, etc.... But that's a WHOLE lot of variables to take into accou...

FoG in 25mm
Howdy, It is taking a little time for the 25mm players to warm up to the one inch MU as opposed to the 40mm DBM "Big Inch" as a 25mm standard. Using a true inch as a MU makes for nice maneuvering room, but does lack some aesthetics as far as shooting ranges, i.e. the figures are practicall...

First Two Games....
Howdy, Whew! Pardon any overlap with some of my questions or observations - I am new to the boards and have been trying to digest many weeks worth of messages in under an hour! :) We meet every Friday and play mostly DBM, with the odd game of Warrior/WRG 7th, WAB, Piquet and other sundry rules. We a...
