Just had our third game this weekend. Now that I was more versed in FoG, I revisited the armies of our first game - 25mm Macedonians versus Indians.
The Indians kicked butt! Part of the problem was *extremely* bad luck for Alexander's side - nothing but "ones" and "twos"... and re-rolls did NOT help! The other part was that the Macedonian side was using "DBx-Think" and got the match-ups all wrong...
They threw the pikes against the elephants (which became a grinding slog), their L/F and L/H against some of the bow (one L/F and the L/H broke and routed), and the Agema and Companions against bow and chariots. The Indian bow shot down the Companions due to poor morale and death rolls. The Agema should have smacked around the chariots (both committed generals), but again bad luck made its presence known.
Because of the surreal levels of bad luck, it wasn't much of a fight.

Not much in the way of rules questions. Some interesting interceptions due to creative "canting" and "jinking" of the Indian BGs. The Companions charged some bow (they were VERY close), but because the Indian clubmen were nearby and "jinked" to face the bow a bit, they were able to intercept and then maneuver into an overlap. Neat stuff.
The few questions that we had were easily resolved with reference to the rules. I can't WAIT for a few diagrams, though!

There seems to be a LOT of rules associated with ORB formations, which may seem daunting to some players. One player thought that the reference sheets were intimidating, but then again two sheets had pretty much ALL the rules you need for FoG! By the end of the game, people were grooving with the rules. A number of people (DBx-ers) really preferred the 40mm "big" inch for 25mm games. Regular inches (or 25mm) seemed to cut down command radii in this scale as opposed to 15mm. Also the shooting seemed VERY close in-scale (this was purely aesthetics). However, for both 25mm games, we played on a 5' by 8' table.
We are going to try to fit a game in on the 4th - Medieval Germans versus Tatars in 25mm (although we have the figs in 15mm, too). Sergei is chomping to try his Samurai or Rus, but we may have to fudge lists for those - for now, I would like to test more of the lists that came with the rules.
