Re: Future?

There is a new game on the drawing board, but no info has been released yet on what it will cover aside from the fact it will not be Napoleonic due to scale issues, which also probably rules out later large scales such as American Civil War.\

I think we can expect continued support of FOG2 via ...

Re: Stop it with the Damn Rivers!

This sort of thing *can* cause draws, but it's not guaranteed. One approach is to simply hang far back behind the river to give the enemy time to cross. It's also possible to feint a central approach and then cross on a flank, although it's certainly not easy. And of course, not all rivers are ...

Re: Dismount and Remount Options

I guess the problem is that you can’t remount wherever you want. For example, once dismounted a unit, its horses are left behind on that tile, where you have to go back through battle lines to get remount when latterly needed.
Technically no problem, practically chicken-rib gaming experience.

Could ...

Stop it with the Damn Rivers!

I am so sick of every random map battle having a river straight down the middle. I was actually going to put together a collage of bow many times I needed to reroll maps before I got one without a river strait in between both deployment zones, but gave up after nine maps in a row with a river right ...

Army Compositions

What sorts of army compositions have you been trying out that you enjoy thematically or in terms of effectiveness in kingdoms or exported battles? I’ve tried a few things

Knights/light archers: I’ve noticed knights are downright broken in Kingdoms, unless you’re massively outnumbered you’ll smash ...

Re: Forming Vassals Complaint

IMHO you make a compelling argument, and I can't disagree with all you are saying. However as Patrat stated, there are intentional work arounds. Diplomatically entice, or fight them and force them to accept vassalage. Otherwise you can alter the chance to receive the Form Vassal RGD in the RGD ...

Forming Vassals Complaint

Demesne being a restricting factor is reasonable, even a downright good mechanic given the era the game is based on, however it's crippled by the fact that the mere ability to form vassals (as well as other events) is based entirely on luck. Depending on the starting country (Sicily being one ...

How to deal with disloyal characters

Enjoying the game so far, but why are there so many disloyal characters? I'm playing as Sicily and have five nobles with below 50 loyalty and two with 30 loyalty. I'm wasting money giving them all army commands since it seems like if I leave them at court than they inevitably coup me. Is there a way ...

Re: Will the appearance of late 1400s men-at-arms be updated?

Personally I don't see the lack of 100% accurate unit models for 100% of units as that big of a deal. Sure, it would be nice to have them, but this is the world we live in. I absolutely WOULD NOT want to revert back to Pike&Shot style graphics under any circumstances.

I honestly prefer a bigger ...

Re: HYW French first battle

How are you supposed to win the first battle as the french in the HYW campaign?

You have to face a huge army of low country spearman but all you have is cavalry which just bounce off them with no effect? You can't flank them as your cavalry never sticks in combat unless they get a cohesion drop ...

Re: Game mode with camps

I would make camps able to be placed by the player and when looted they enforce map-wide morale checks for the army in question. Count it as a town terrain wise which the attacker can move through when they have looted the camp. Looters have to pass automatic morale checks to stop looting after ...

Re: Rhoxolani Cavalry

I mostly use them as a sort of second or third wave, after the light cavalry and dedicated horse archers have used most of their ammunition the light spear cavalry strike at disordered units or pin intact units in place for dedicated horse archers to flank. The bows are useful for pushing units just ...

Re: In game chat - the brick wall of silence?

Some people are awkward, I wouldn’t think too much of it. I like some back and forth, but if the other person is silent that’s fine too, I enjoy a good battle more than good conversation.

Re: Epic battles not as good as DLC campaigns

What exactly do you want from an Epic battle?

This is a question I have wanted to ask for a long time, but I suspect every person will want something different!

I personally like more upper level decision making. As it stands epic battles are like a game of chess, they require intelligence and ...

Patrick Ward, if there was a DLC adding in the Sengoku style map campaign to Medieval, I would definitely buy it and others too. Then it could be limited to people who wanted it. Please consider it.

Paul59, that 60 turn campaign you had is actually what I like about those classic map campaigns ...

Have you played Field of Glory Empires for Field of Glory 2?

I expect at some point there will also probably be a version for Medieval.

Truth be told I don't care for Empires. The campaigns for Pike and Shot and Sengoku Jidai however I like, all the units are available and it is focused just ...

Re: I think that knights advantage in melee should be removed or lessened

Going just on how they play in the game I think Knights are okay. Quite a few players even seem to think that Knights are overpriced at 74. They are slow, easily flanked, and in my experience often do minimal damage to spearmen apart from their lucky roll on the impact charge from time to time ...
