Re: Partly disordered

A unit of 6 bases of MF charges out of a forest against a 4 base BG of CV. The MF cannot clear the forest and their rear bases are therefore disordered. The CV win the impact and the subsequent melee but do not disrupt the MF. Are the MF unsteady or must the CV attempt to break off in the JAP?

Historically, where possible, troops tended to flee towards their own camp. Evaders therefore could flee into a camp with the result that pursuers would then sack the camp.

Also, a camp is a symbolic representation. Clearly, it is far too small to accommodate all the BG's which emanate from it prior to the commencement of the game. Therefore, one could presume that the bulk of the true camp extends off table. This in turn suggests that camps should be established only ...

Currently, it would seem that a camp is an impassable terrain piece for oneself whilst offering no impediment to one's opponent.

Does a general with a unit of LF in a forest move at their speed or does the LF move at his speed?

The two battlegroups are members of the same army. The bottom diagram should be disregarded.
Battle group AAA wheels to its lefty. Battle group B wheels to its right.

my only real quibble is with the blood and gold lists where there seems to be a departure from the philosophy that troop capabilities are based on the weapon which their style of fighting favoured. e.g. sarmatian bow and lance are only classified as lance. But in Blood and gold, atlatl users get an ...

Impact foot who win at impact should disorder, not disrupt, the bases they contact. if the loser then wins the subsequent melee phase they recover automatically. This would encourage bgs to impact on the widest possible front. It would aso mimic the scenario of a formed unit being broken into as a r...

barbarian impact foot vs romans

Impact foot such as gauls were renowned for their ferocity in their initial charge and this was when the romans and hellenistic greeks considered them most dangerous. Accounts of victories they achieved over romans seem to portray big men chopping their way through roman shields. I imagine a mass of...

Flank marches colliding with forced evaders.

Flank marchers must make a full on table move perpendicular to the table edge. Troops within 6" of the table edge must evade away from the edge. Unit Enemy was within 1" of the table edge when the flank march arrived. Sadly, its evade only took it 2" further from the table edge. The f...
