Re: Cherbourg first attempt.
Cherbourg second attempt. I tried to organize things better and won the scenario but took two days longer. One infantry holding ground on the left side, one holding ground on the right side. One infantry division seizing ground in preparation for 3rd AD to stage a breakthrough attack. That worked we...

Cherbourg first attempt.
Bottom line. I am fascinated by the potential but a lot of things confuse me, lol. I captured Cherbourg and won the scenario but have lots of questions and felt like I was bumbling through the entire scenario. I decided to do things incrementally and selected my infantry divisions to each make a pin...

Initial impressions
Hi. I sent direct feedback last night but was wondering where the beta forum was and just realized I had missed the link in my invitation email. Thanks for letting me take part in the beta. The more I think about this game, the more I like the concept, and I don't usually play RTS games. But this lo...

Re: NATO Icons
I would like a NATO-style counter option, though I know if it comes, it will only come via mod. It is just a preference. There is a NATO mod for Panzer Corps Gold that I like a lot I think it works very well in that game. Again, my preference, I'm sure a minority opinion.

Civil War!
Consider this an in progress summary AAR. There should be an image of the current map at the bottom. Civil War. For those who haven't seen one, and I had not until last night, this is what it looks like. Rome, turn 373. I had been on the edge as a decadent republic for a long time, and things finall...

These look like excellent improvements to a great game.

Re: Decadence is ruining this game for me...
I was going to make a post asking for a Decadence for Dummies (meaning me) tutorial, but I thought I would just tack the request on to this thread. I'm playing as Rome in about turn 290. I started out making lots of mistakes, nearly lost in the first five turns. Later I had a desperate war with Cart...

Re: I want to like this game but something is wrong.
Hi. I'm playing a game as Rome now and a couple of days ago posted an in-progress AAR on Steam briefly summarizing how I stumbled through the first 57 turns and managed to survive as Rome and begin to thrive despite nearly getting knocked out right at the start. The link is attached I encountered th...

Re: Future scenarios
Alexander's conquests. After all, the main scenario start is just a few years after his death, and the map goes all the way to India.

Re: Playing the tutorial campaign (Pyrrhus) is super hard?
That is no way a tutorial campaign. Try the walkthrough in the manual as Rome or even a grand campaign as Dacia.....much more gradual introduction. Even the devs describe the short Epirus campaign as tough. Thanks for pointing out the walkthrough. I had not noticed it while reading, I mean skimming...

Re: 'Easy' Level - REALLY?!?
The original poster said he was playing the Pyrrus scenario. I tried that at first but found that all three times I played Pyrrus just steamrollered to Rome and took it in two or three turns whatever I did. I gave up with that and have enjoyed the main game far more. I had the same struggle with th...

Research for dummies?
Okay, I understand how research is supposed to work. What I don't understand is what I should actually do to optimize research. What research strategy should I follow? Should I pick out specific technologies that I want and set them as priorities? Should I key in on specific applied sciences? That i...
