Lignerolles and St-Péravy-La-Colombe are about 3,3 kilometers apart, that's a 42-minute walk. So Talbot's rearguard and Scales' main army are at least... 3,5 km apart, Talbot among hedges/woods and Scales in a valley, separated by a river called La Retrève :
