USA got whipped by the Czechs 3-0 today. We couldn't even score once.
USA are rated higher than England by FIFA's world rankings... odd huh?
Wait until England meets Czech Republic in some later stage  , you'll see what they (FIFA) mean

Only joking  . England squad is great...

Did you catch Czech Republic going down 2-0 to Ghana... I'd be glad if England met them later on based on that :)

well, in fact, age of reckoning yet to start.

In next World Cup, Australia participate in Asian qualifier(until now they participate in Oceanian qualifier).
And there alredy are several strong rivals, South Korea, Iran, Saudi Arabia. And now, Australia.

I guess it's going to be really tough for Japan to clear its way to the World Cup.

I see Japan one step above Iran and Arabia Saudi. but having Australia is bad news for you, no doubt.

Is there any kind of (sport) rivality between South Korea and Japan? (like Italy vs. Spain or Argentina vs. Brasil)

Yes, there are rivality between South Korea and Japan. Until quite recently, there are no such sport nationalism here in Japan,
except in Olympic times.

Well, if one look into World Baseball Cup, which Japan happened to win, no one cannot deny there are rivality between South Korea and Japan.
And the underlying structure is hard to decipher, it is really complicated and full of political talking.

And the one thing I'm really worrying is some of South Korea's MMO are really popular among Japanese, though this kind of political construct sometimes surface among gamers' community. Gme as another arm of political world, to reach direct into your PC, humm, I ought to be carefull.

I personally think both the Japanese and Korean fans are model sports fans, they support their team with all the passion of England fans (maybe slightly less :-P) but without all the silly trouble that the minority seem to bring to the English game. Japan were doing well against australia in the group match and were quite unlucky I thought. I'm sure they'll still qualify most years.

Japan's problem is we don't have single FW, even though we have many MFs.
So Japan need striker. And everybody knows this, but solution is hard to get.

England progress to the quater finals :-) 1-0 win over ecqudor, we're still playing rubbish, but hopefully we should beat Portugal. After all, no Deco (suspended), no Ronaldo (injured), no Costinho (suspended). Did anyone catch the Portugal/Holland match, new world record... 16 yellow cards and 4 red... go ref!

No Owen (injured), out-of-form Rooney (boozed)...COME ON YOU CROUCH!   I still see England in semifinals, though, against Germany, but Ghana will beat them in the finals if Crouch & Co. manage to win the germans' match 8)

The route we have taken the teams we can possibly encounter in the semi finals are: Brazil, Ghana, Spain or France. The final could very well be Germany tho, but my money is on Argentina. 8)

I'm...stunned

France and Italy....

Hard to say which was a bigger shock, Italy defeating Germany, or France over Brazil and then Portugal.
