That was nobly done, Nick. I quite agree that history will award you the victory as the contemporary reports are lost in mysterious threads...GentlemanRanker wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 8:58 am Referees ruling required:
Seeing as a clearly drunken GDod has posted the AAR of our battle to the wrong thread, does that make it technically a win for me?
I claim a magnificent Spanish (moral) victory! Admittedly we left the field to the enemy, and may have suffered a just a few more casualties ... We could have kept on fighting, honest! Only we knew that Alan wanted to wrap things up, we were just doing the courteous thing by routing.

My opponent played a very solid game. After reading Snuggles comments on the relative armies I came up with a cunningly designed army that used a very cunning plan. Massed Veteran cavalry on the left to sweep around his flank supported by massed hussars. Heavily weighted left of the infantry with veteran tercios. A holding force of pike and shot with a veteran tercio on the extreme right.
Things came unstuck in the first round of shooting when the veteran tercio holding the right disrupted on first round of shooting, several pike and shot followed suit in the next round and a brilliant charge by his veteran cavalry swept away 3 units. 24 to 0 and my left hadn't even made contact.
We finally struck home and overwhelmed his right wing as he demolished my centre. My hussars ran down his guns and fragged infantry. We clawed it back to within 5 points before my exhausted army collapsed.
A great game against a friendly and most component opponent. Well played Sir.

Gribol (French) defeated Lascar (Spanish) 60:0
It was not such easy as it looks like (luck + domino effect helps a lot)

A cunning plan by the Spanish.... leaving large quantities of Cava in their baggage train. Curses foiled again. Someone pass me a drink, I think a large rat has crawled into my mouth whilst asleep, licked away all my saliva and died in there! Lucky gribol saved the day ...AMAZING RESULTGentlemanRanker wrote: ↑Tue Sep 22, 2020 8:58 am Referees ruling required:
