Division B
edb1815 (Carthage Hannibal in Africa) defeated lydianed (Roman 219-200BC with Greek allies) 44% - 12%
Lydianed's Greek allied pikes failed him on several unlucky rolls with favorable odds whilst the African spearmen valiantly held off the legionaries. gg - well played.

Re: Tournament diary and news . . .
Dear players of Div A Bliblical and Classic Ant. and Themed Event at the moment I don't know when I'll be able to go back home and so to play the pending games. I'm in South Africa now stuck here because of the Covid lockdown and without a proper computer allowing me to play. I'll be probably back to Italy (not the heaven for Covid at the moment) within 1 week using the special flight organized by the Embassy, but nothing is 100% sure, so I officially give up and thanks all of you that have waited me to come back. See you next tournament!

Coronavirus and unfinished matches . . .
As you know we have a system of adjudication for any unfinished matches at the end of the tournament involving myself, ianiow and hidde. Right now we are discussing how we should deal with any matches that are "coronavirus-related", that is, matches that have been impacted by the pandemic and otherwise would have been completed on time. Hopefully, we will conclude those discussions at the end of the day as there is hardly any difference in approach between the three of us.
Regarding the Themed Event semi-final between Breogan and dkalenda which has not yet started, this morning we decided to award those matches to Breogan (voting 3-0) so that the final can start at a reasonable time.
Regarding dkalenda's unfinished matches in Classical Antiquity Division A and Biblical Division A (they are all "in progress"), we also decided this morning to adjudicate them after the tournament ends on April 12th. This will allow dkalenda to resume these matches should he be able to return from South Africa before the deadline. All players are allowed the full 10 weeks to complete their matches.

Division C for Constipated
Barrold713 (Urartians) defeats iandavidsmith (Carthaginians) 40-14
This was a total map terrain win where I had really large patches of rough terrain to move my medium foot into and fling pointy projectiles into all who ventured near.
Thanks for the match.

Division B
Karvon (Parthian 250 BC-225AD with Arab allies) defeated Challenge1 (Hunnic (Western) 376 AD with Germanic Foot Tribes allies) 61-38 for a score of 4-0.
Large areas of woods cluttered up most of the left half of our side. A stream ran across the middle overlooked by gentle ridge on our right side of the field. A long patch of rough ground ran across the stream and up this ridge in about the center of the map.
I opted for a heavy horse archer force, figuring I could have a quantity advantage over the more expensive Hun cavalry. I added in a couple of camels and 3 cataphracts to deal with any lancers. I took a full compliment of light foot to take advantage of the rough of woods for added sniping at more expensive enemy horse. I brought along some irregular foot to help herd enemy horse archers.
I deployed my light foot in the woods and opposite the rough patch in the center. My cavalry horse archers were a long line across the center with the woods on our left. Given the uncertainty of cavalry battles, I didn't really have much of a plan aside from "advance and engage the enemy" with the idea of shooting down or driving off the opposing horse archers.
The Huns also had a fair number of heavy horse archers deployed in the center, supported by a some light horse archers on the flanks and a few lancers held back in reserve.
Given the woods dominating my left, the Huns advanced initially focused on the center and my right. I moved my cavalry up to the ridge line overlooking the stream and moved my light foot up into the rough and along the stream in the center, supported by some horse and my irregulars. The Huns shifted their cavalry to oppose my line on the ridge, but both sides were just out of arrow range. I advanced all along the right and center and poured arrows into the Huns. This led to a brief exchange of fire in which I came out a bit ahead given my superior numbers.
The Huns then regrouped and charged my cavalry line, which evaded. This led to a running skirmish battle on my right as my horse regrouped and concentrated fire to wear the Huns down slowly but surely. Naturally, some of our horse got chased off the map and some were caught while evading, so our own casualties mounted. In the center and left, our foot, supported by some horse and camels, corralled or drove off the opposing horse.
Then, our cataphracts, rumbled into the flanks of the pursuing Huns on the right, crushing some and driving others off the map. With support from our surviving horse archers, they chased the scattered Hun away from the battles still raging in the center.
Just as the last light of day was disappearing, a couple of the last battling Huns in the center were flanked and succumbed, leading to the final collapse of the Hun army.
The final scene...
