Great game herm! It really did come down to the wire, though it was more a question of whether I was going to survive for a draw, or not.
That's it for me. Thank you Pete for keeping this all running and hosting the tournament. Thank you to all my opponents for the excellent games.
We should all Stand With Ukraine.

Schweetness101 - Carthaginian 235-146BC with Spanish allies 300-10BC defeated batesmotel - Gallic 300-101BC with Samnite allies 355-272BC 61 - 39
masses of impact foot of all kinds smashed into each other and fell over. A very nicely placed forest ambush by batesmodtel was not quite enough to turn the tide.

Ianiow once again you have given your opponent a bloody nose despite not having Arabs. I am sure you have broken a record for points scored by not winning

Div C
Karvon (Numidian 55bc with Roman allies) defeated rs2excelsior (Pontic 110-85BC) 43 - 17 for a 4-0 score.
We deployed our Roman allied legionaries across a narrow gap between two large woods on our left and right. We hid our imitation legionaries in the woods on our right with our cavalry and elephant in reserve behind them. Our Spanish, Gallic and Roman auxiliaries we hid in the woods on the left. We massed our light foot in another patch of woods further left and ahead of our auxiliaries with our native irregulars in support behind them. Our light horse we deployed across our center. Our hope was to draw in the Pontic foot against our Romans and then envelope them on one, or both, flanks.
Pontus deployed a block of pikes, imitation legionaries and a warband supported by a few medium foot on each flank a bit off to right of center, screened by a line of light foot and horse. A block of cavalry was in reserve initially. It seemed they planned to march down the center and engage my foot.
Instead, their skirmishers, supported by their cavalry very aggressively attacked and pursued my lights, sweeping my foot out of the woods on the left and destroying most of my light horse. I retired my irregulars to the safety of the nearby woods to their rear to join up with the other still hidden mediums. My one or two surviving horse fled thru the woods and then around the enemy right, pursued by enemy lights.
With the enemy horse busy on my left, I sprang my imitation legionaries and mounted reserve from the woods on my right on the exposed enemy left, and advanced my center and right in echelon in support. My right ground down his exposed left, but the decisive blow came when our warband on the left end of the line turned the pikes flank and broke two blocks in succession.
The final scene...
