The Bedouin Dynasties List mentions two types of Hamdanids, Aleppo and Mosul. There is a time overlap between these.
Does that mean that the lines which state "Hamdanids of Aleppo" cannot use Ghilman or Dailami? It's my reading based on previous replies (distinct lines are for different rulers, ref: Early/Late Successor lists).
What's confusing is that the special campaign 964/65 says Hamdanids of Aleppo, and specifies that Ghilman can't be used... this suggests they can use them outside of this campaign)

Hamdanids of any flavour can use ghilman apart from the Aleppo branch in 964-965.
In fact the Aleppo lot shouldn't really be able to have ghilman for the 966-1008 period as well, or indeed Dailami, as in reality they didn't have an army worth talking about. However, to avoid too many exceptions, and as a Mosul army could have both so call it Mosul if you're being pedantic, no restrictions were put in (or I forgot to suggest it).

Nah, I think I was trying to keep it relatively simple - after all I didn't include a Hamdanid of Aleppo army based at Mayyafariqin as an option which could have been done ...

well, if you delete the one line in the special campaign bit, then the list will read like that.nikgaukroger wrote:Hamdanids of any flavour can use ghilman apart from the Aleppo branch in 964-965.
